I saw this at the National Film Theatre, London yesterday. I thought it superb. It is a compelling and informative film, whether one knows anything about the plight of Tibet or not. I have seen many documentaries on the subject but none can hope to capture the realities of (for example) mothers having to say farewell to their children, the brutality of crossing the Himalayas on foot or the tangled, suspicious world of the Tibetan diaspora.
I have to disagree with the person who has written that it is 'flat' - it has not fallen prey to the temptation to overdramatise or be contrived but the characters, the scenarios, the settings, ring emphatically true.
