Ed Travis Cinapse Tintorera is a wild time capsule of a luxurious time and place that also makes you root for the sharks to win, though you know they won’t. Sep 29, 2022 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews A bad shark film that's good for a few cheap laughs and an eyeful of nudity. Rated: C Feb 24, 2021 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy It doesn't matter if it's a blue shark or a tiger shark or even Hanna-Barbera's Jabberjaw shark, since, despite the marketing focus, the movie isn't a Jaws rip-off as much as it's a look at hedonistic lifestyles. Carlos I Probably the most bizarre "when nature attacks" flick I've ever seen. There's pretty much zero horror going on and almost no shark action to be seen. It's more focused on the strange drama between the Thruple the 3 leads are in. It's an interesting curiosity, but not at all what it's marketed to be. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/20/23 Full Review dave s Tintorera is unique in the sense that it doesn't appear to have any kind of plot. This isn't a good thing. Set in a resort town in Mexico, two men spend their days killing sharks. It is unclear whether they get paid for this or if they do it for the sheer joy of senseless killing. When not engaged in slaughtering wildlife, they spend their time hitting on attractive tourists, all of whom seem more than eager to engage in partner swapping or a menage a trois or two with the shark killers. And that's about it. Throw in some bad acting, awkward dubbing, painful dialogue and a myriad of other problematic issues, this is a stinker from start to finish. Susan George makes a brief appearance, despite getting top billing, in the middle of the movie, proving that people will do anything for a free vacation in Mexico. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review laurent b One of the worst movie I have ever watched. There is absolutely no story, almost no characters (in the sense that they are inconsistent), and it's just boring. Nothing happens in this movie ! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member An ultra-schlocky JAWS rip-off, it's very minutely redeemed by some terrific live shark footage. Beyond that, we're left with laughable characterizations, utterly bizarre plotting, and lots of gratuitous sex. Personal mileage may vary, but this one just does not work at all. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Apparently this isn't a JAWS ripoff, the screen play was adapted from the book Tintorera. There's more bikinis then sharks in this paradise of swing. Boobies and blood and real animals getting sluaghtered. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member If you like your 1970's Jaws rip offs to be soft core porn about a pair of Mexican 'Shark Hunters' named Miguel and Steve who enter into a summer long three way with Susan George, then this is for you. Horrible, but once you start watching you won't be able to look away. There are some well done shark attacks in the last 3 minutes of the flick, but the majority of this film is about the alternate lifestyle of Miguel and Steve. Tintorera is for Jaws rip off completists ONLY. It should be noted this flick is filled with horrible killings of poor sharks that are quite real, and the fact these sharks were probably killed for no other reason than this film was actually quite tough to stomach. Susan George looks really good though... Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
