Ash P Okay, okay, so I guess we should talk about the third movie that's kinda playing a little like the Last Temptation of Christ. I was surprised to learn that it came out the exact year as the second movie. Except this came out in November instead of February. Alright, bottom line: I don't hate it. I was just bored by this movie. It had a premise that was interesting. Except that it dragged on for so long. So what's the story? Troumaville is so peaceful that all Toxie could do was catch old ladies cheating and let kids eat their vegetables. Which failed miserably. Hilariously so. One day, he gets something in the mail that involves eye surgery that even Claire, who is now his fiancee, would like to proceed to. But, uh oh, they're short on money. So Toxie goes out to get a job, but it doesn't seem like it's doing any favors for him. But, uh oh, apparently Apocalypse, Inc. is still around and notices that Toxic is looking for a job. So the Chairman decides to extend the offer to Toxie so he and his company move in and take over Troumaville. But, uh oh, Troumaville is sickened because it feels like a betrayal from their hometown hero. Oh, and did I forget to mention that the Devil was in this? Yeah, the Chairman is the Devil. Who'd thunk it? Yeah, I do like the idea that Toxie would go against his duties of who he's fighting against, and he just accepts the job offer so he could get eye surgery for Claire. It does work. It also works on how the consequences of Toxie's own actions can affect Troumaville. Thankfully, he turns against the company after witnessing the failure that he was bringing. Therefore, he fights against... one group of thugs and the Devil in five levels of his own games. The issue is that most of the scenes dragged on for so long that I got bored. Yeah, that's the one word that I can label this movie. Boring. Some of the scenes are also annoying. Like that dream sequence between Toxie and Little Melvin, who is the worst of the movie. He's like the dweebs from the grifting community who can't get laid in today's day and age. Some folks said that this is better than the second movie? No! The second movie may have issues, but at the least, it does carry on what the first movie delivered. Again, there is only one fight sequence, and all Toxie does against the Devil was play five games. The effects look a little lazy, and as practical as the costumes are, the Devil's design is just generic and more of a giant dragon. Plus, tearing his skin to reveal lizards and bugs was not as scary as the crowd thinks of it as. Oh, and their constant screaming at most times don't help either. I just wanted to tell them to shut up half of the time. Thankfully, my brain was off after so many scenes dragged on. I will admit that one scene where Toxie melts and becomes regular Melvin again was cool. This movie had a few good laughs, but it felt a little soulless. Again, I like where they were going with this, but for a sequel that was nearly two hours, I just wanted it to end after so many dragged out scenes. The acting is just fine, but over-the-top when the movie drags. I hope the next sequel does better. Because this wasn't it. I'm gonna give the Last Temptation of Toxie three Toxie ready to choke his little dweebish self out of ten. 3/10. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/22/24 Full Review Daniel C. M Anyone who says this was better than 2 is a complete idiot. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review chris h Why?lol... horrendous Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/05/23 Full Review Josh G Lets be honest, this a concern that is a franchise running on fumes. The devil comes to tromaville to temp toxie and I could care less. The blood is dialed down to a 1, and they replace it with acid. The budget is nothing and every reaction shot which is 3/4 of the film bothers me, they scream a lot and it's so annoying. Avoid this. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/10/23 Full Review Petros T The prosthetics work is very good and Rick Collins has his moments as the OTT villain, and I guess as a whole it's a little less obnoxious than the torturous first two films, but it remains a really poor and really confusing continuation of the events of "Part II". The hysteria is still pretty much present, as are the tasteless, strained jokes, while the on-the-nose environmental and political messaging seems wholly out of place amidst this merciless maelstrom of lazy and downright bad ideas.
