Fascinating visit of the subject as seen from eyes belonging to all sides. I saw a 75 minutes version in dvd with extras. It seems that all sides are delusional in fact. There is a lot of generalisations but we can see it is not true for everyone. Delusions: prostitutes that thinks get love, pimps that thinks provide love and reason to live, Johns that can't get romantic and would go for a quick fix, police that thinks they are always right to the point that one declares he would kill. This world seems as slimy and muddy as possible and the film shows it. Looking at it, it's still not as bad as war and I don't see the USA fighting that at all. Would the policeman kill to reduce wars? The fact that the police method to stop an enslaving is taking three weeks because "if they stop it right away, she will go back to him right away" speaks of the complexity. Still, when the enslaved is minor, it seems like a no-brainer to me. Some prostitutes seems very willing to do the trade, their complaints appears to be that the clients are always too bad and it's like getting paid to be raped. Not the first time I hear this. But is it the same at the higher echelon? One, in extra, is in S&M and does not complain, for she takes on the torturing role. The major problem seems to be that this world is muddied by excessive profits, drug, violence, lies, delusion and confusion. Society is also not fighting it properly.

Funny how the love of money keeps turning up as the root of all evils.

An eye-opening documentary about the sex trade, Tricked is provocative and daring. The film interviews several former prostitutes, pimps, and law enforcement agents as they share their experiences; with a focus on how women are lured and trapped into the lifestyle. The stories have a real earnestness to them that's quite compelling, and at times shocking. However, there's not much follow-through on a lot of the disturbing issues that are brought-up in these discussions. Yet even if it doesn't get remarkably in-depth, Tricked is a captivating and hard-hitting look at the growing problem of sex trafficking in America.

A documentary addressing a swept under the rug issue - the issue of prostitution and sex trafficking in America. Told through the eyes of women who were truly "tricked" into a lifestyle they never desired - a lifestyle of prostitution, trafficking and hopelessness. More importantly they shed light on the issue that many people believe these women "want" a lifestyle of prostitution, that if you stay involved you must "want to be involved" - but the reality is much deeper, much darker - revolving around fear induced captivity.

I almost stopped watching this as soon as it started because it opens with an incredibly offensive and sexist comment from a pimp that's presented almost as fact with no rebuttal. I get what the filmmakers were doing...setting up the environment in which this happens...but it was very difficult to hear that and want to continue watching. But I did continue and it's a pretty solid documentary highlighting the very real problem of human sex trafficking. It will make you mad, but it's worth the watch.
