What to Know

Critics Consensus

It's nowhere near as inventive as its off-the-wall premise might suggest, but Turbo boasts just enough colorful visual thrills and sharp voice acting to recommend as undemanding family-friendly fare.

Larushka Ivan-Zadeh metro.co.uk There's the odd giggle and diverting adult support from Samuel L Jackson, Snoop Dogg and Paul Giamatti but the ideal audience age range here is knee high to grasshopper. Rated: 3/5 Sep 6, 2017 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times The animated races are fast and fun, the jokes are hip without being too snarky and the starry voice cast is super. Rated: 3/5 Oct 25, 2013 Full Review Mark Kermode Observer (UK) The graphics are colourful and kinetic in a souped-up computer game sort of way, and there's pleasure to be had in watching the racetrack zoom by at full throttle. Oct 21, 2013 Full Review Mark Jackson Epoch Times The snail-eye view of burning up the racetrack at 200+ mph is thrilling; you'll think, 'Why am I getting this excited about an oxymoronic fast snail?' Finding one's bliss is magical! Rated: 4/5 Mar 29, 2022 Full Review Cory Woodroof Nashville Scene Closer in tone, spirit and achievement to Pixar's Cars, the earnest Turbo is content just to provide a lot of fun. Sep 9, 2021 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) This genial animated adventure is, quite simply, one very cruisy joy ride for younger viewers. Melvin H This movie is soo good it made me cry everywhere. I see turbo more than my familly. I hear the words "WOW THAT SNAIL IS FAST" more than i love you. My music taste is the turbo soundrack. I have lost count of how many times i have watched this movie but since ive watched it everyday 5 times since it came out is suspect in somewhere in the bilions, yes i did the math. My life has gone more than up since i watched this movie, quite frankly my life STARTED when i watched this for the first time. Everytime i see a snail in real life i scream WOW THAT SNAIL IS FAST and begin crying all over the place because it reminds me of the thing that makes me truly happy... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/25 Full Review Alfred Junior T It was hilarious and shows how the smallest things can achieve greatly Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/15/25 Full Review Audience Member Probably the most okay movie I've ever seen. It's just base level, but acceptable Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/09/25 Full Review K G This seems to be the best animated movie about racing. The concept is very distinctive: a snail (snails tend to be slow) who wants/dreams to be the fastest racer yet. And he left, dodging what was going to hold him back & catches attention with bigger friends who truly believe in him. I was very keen on the casting: Ryan Reynolds portraying Theo/Turbo (who is often portraying the outspoken protagonist who is easy at making you laugh (i.e: Deadpool)). And Guy Gagmé was like no other animated role that Bill Hader has ever had. And another meaning is that "you should not always meet your heroes in person" when Theo/Turbo was inspired by Guy Gagmé who said "No dream is too big, no dreamer is too small". Then, Guy Gagmé turns be the narcissistic antagonist who never thought about others being successful & win all the time - he turned out not believe in the snail. This is truly better than Pixar's Cars or Disney's Wreck-it-Ralph. DreamWorks is the best. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/07/25 Full Review Audience Member Absolute banger of a movie...
