What to Know

Critics Consensus

It's nowhere near as inventive as its off-the-wall premise might suggest, but Turbo boasts just enough colorful visual thrills and sharp voice acting to recommend as undemanding family-friendly fare.

Larushka Ivan-Zadeh metro.co.uk There's the odd giggle and diverting adult support from Samuel L Jackson, Snoop Dogg and Paul Giamatti but the ideal audience age range here is knee high to grasshopper. Rated: 3/5 Sep 6, 2017 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times The animated races are fast and fun, the jokes are hip without being too snarky and the starry voice cast is super. Rated: 3/5 Oct 25, 2013 Full Review Mark Kermode Observer (UK) The graphics are colourful and kinetic in a souped-up computer game sort of way, and there's pleasure to be had in watching the racetrack zoom by at full throttle. Oct 21, 2013 Full Review Mark Jackson Epoch Times The snail-eye view of burning up the racetrack at 200+ mph is thrilling; you'll think, 'Why am I getting this excited about an oxymoronic fast snail?' Finding one's bliss is magical! Rated: 4/5 Mar 29, 2022 Full Review Cory Woodroof Nashville Scene Closer in tone, spirit and achievement to Pixar's Cars, the earnest Turbo is content just to provide a lot of fun. Sep 9, 2021 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) This genial animated adventure is, quite simply, one very cruisy joy ride for younger viewers. Audience Member It's a refreshing children's movie if you want to just sit on the couch and watch anything. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/14/24 Full Review Audience Member Two words: Schaffrillas. Productions. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/20/24 Full Review Leovanni E Easily the best dreamworks movie and its not even close Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review Daniel M uh. This movie exists. I like the Snoop Dogg snail. bow wow wow. I liked the Samuel L Jackson snail. see you around officer. I'm tired I don't want to write a review about a snail Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/09/24 Full Review Cooper B While it may entrance young viewers with exciting visuals and flashing colors, Turbo's story is predictable and straightforward at best. Side characters are underdeveloped, the character arc feels cliché, and the ending seemingly undermines the main characters growth arc just enough to feel unsatisfying. But hey, it has Ryan Reynolds and Snoop Dogg, so at least the voices are nice to listen to. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/24/24 Full Review Carter C It doesn’t tell the most interesting or original story, but this solid take at an unpredictable, action-packed, suspenseful, and awesomely animated DreamWorks film is worth a watch or two.
