jesse o I don't understand why the poster to this film has the characters in a beach-like setting, since they never actually find themselves at a beach or even close to being near a beach at any point of the film. And I get that a lot of these posters aren't meant to be taken literally, more than anything it's meant to show that the movie is light in tone. It's not as bad as when you see a character in a poster holding a gun despite never actually using one in the film. With that said, while I wouldn't call this movie good, I would say that I enjoyed my time watching it. Part of that is the fact that this is a comedy straight through. There's never any time when the film feels the need to force in some, really, unnecessary dramatic elements to the film which, while I get, to me, drag things down. Particularly in films like this, I wouldn't have a problem with it is if was something like a Little Miss Sunshine, where the film is clearly a dramedy. It's not one first and then it's the other. But in a lot of these South Korean films, you have a movie that for its first, oh I don't know, 80 minutes is a comedy and the last 30 minutes are dramatic. And I've always hated that structure. Perhaps hated is a strong word, but I just really dislike it and feel that it hurts a film more than it benefits. And I'm not saying that this is even a great comedy, hell, it's not even good, but the consistent comedic tone is one of the best parts about the film. And, of course, since there's no description for this film, I'll have to provide one. I'm gonna lift this right off from Amazon, which is where I watched the film on. 'A debtor and a creditor run into serious trouble when they witness a murder.' What the film doesn't say is that these two come into the possession of this case that someone else wants and is willing to do absolutely anything to take it off of our leads' hands. This is where the film really falters, because they never do a great job at explaining what this case is and why it's really important to these people to get it back. And the film isn't even necessarily that funny, I think it does have some inspired bits, however. Like the entire fight that takes place in the debtor's apartment. That entire sequence is, to me, the comedic highlight of the film. It's just a fun scene. The film also benefits from the fact that Cha Tae-hyun and Park Joong-hoon have excellent chemistry with each other. I think they complement each other really well and the film does make good use of their talents to, at the very least, give us an average film. The shame is in the fact that the script really isn't up to the leads' talents. Like I said, the movie just isn't super funny. Again, it has its moments and the leads are really well-matched, but there's not much else to the film. The plot is fairly non-existent and they do a shit job at explaining things. With that said, I still thought this was a average film. The leads are good and consistently comedic tone kept things fairly amiable. Not that I can recommend it, but you could do so much worse than this. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member "it's a hilarious movie.... every moment you laugh.... even though it's in korean and i was reading the subtitles.... i couldn't resist watching it 3 times already....Joong-Hoon Park and Tae-hyun Cha are amazing" Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member this is one hell of a film. a true comedy i recommend it Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member After the first hour the film has only just got going. The plot is a typical comedy action set-up. Two guys (hence the title) get caught up in an ever escalating race to obtain a briefcase. It gets worse and worse for the heroes as gangsters and the police are hot on their tails. Unfortunately it gets worse and worse for the audience as well. The action lends some well timed and absurd slapstick to proceedings but other comical efforts can only produce groans. Only so many references to peoples sexuality can be tolerated in a comedy. The same goes for the ever increasing insults. Cum face, jerk face, donkey balls. That is of course assuming the subtitles are correct. The pacing is all off with some scenes seemingly edited into the wrong place. A lot could have been cut with one chase going on for a needless 20 minutes. Still it isn't completely devoid of some fun. Just needs tighter editing. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Highly entertaining and amusing. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I never thought that this movie would be so much fun like this... A great combination between action and comedy! Joong-Hoon Park and Tae-hyun Cha gave great performance as a brothers... They're great... And Eun-jeong Han very lovely in this movie, yet she'll get famous because of Kang Hae Won role in TV's Full House... Not original but lovely ones.. I'm pretty sure they had a lot laugh while making this movie, because I had! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
