Oaklee D A Warhammer film that makes sense in theory more than execution. The animation is janky and I'm surprised they managed to get John Hurt and Terence Stamp to sign on. I feel like this had the potential to be huge and instead it was squandered. Maybe if you're a die hard 40k fan you might get some enjoyment but I can't recommend it otherwise. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/07/25 Full Review darth p I don't get how it can have such a bad score the action is perfect the story is kinda generic but overall good like sure the animation looks old but we'll that's because it is it's around 14 years old of course the animation will be clunky. I think that if you don't think about it that hard it is an excellent movie. Of course people who enjoy Warhammer will probably enjoy it more than people who don't know Warhammer Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review Matthew I Personally I love this movie, I used to watch it when it first came out and to me its pretty much perfect Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Just play the video game Space Marine if you want a good inroduction to the Ultra Marines, and watch the fan films if you want any quality and faithfulness to the source material. The only real positive here is that bolter rounds are depicted faithfully and you can tell what it is you're looking at in regards to the Space Marines themselves. Although Chaplains can't do what the one in this film does, I would believe if one screaming "BURN HERETICS!!!" was enough to make any enemy of mankind void all of their internal organs out through their bowels. Read and Aaron Dembski Bowden novel or watch the Hellsreach fan film if you want something truly Warhammer 40,000. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite the Ultramarines acting more like Black Templars the movie was entertaining enough. Animation wise the quality is not on a par with more modern fan animations, which is forgivable as this was the first animation let alone live action 40k that i'd seen. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member With Abnett on hand it was absurd that this was 5th company, with fresh recruits. Novices fresh from 10th company should be Devastator assistants and gophers in Aquilla armor. 5 company is a battle company, even if it is at the border between Battle and Reserve companies. It was a ludicrous setup, 9 novices, 1 sergeant, a company commander (Captain) and an Apothecary, with no rhino support, or even a Dreadnaught all on their lonesome on the company commander's battle barge. Where the hell were the other 50 Tactical, 20 Assault and 20 Devastator brothers? Where the hell was their chaplain? Why the hell was the CAPTAIN not decked out with more than what looked like a Fangmaw pattern Chainsword, and a bolt pistol and wearing basic Aquilla armor? Hell why didn't his Iron Halo provide him a forcefield? Saying something is an alternate reality is one thing, it's another to pretty much ignore the internet, and the collective information about the Ultramarines available, literally, within 2 seconds of a google search. The only good part of this film was the cast. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews
