Andrea Beach Common Sense Media Book-based drama has emotional intensity, mild scariness. Rated: 3/5 Jan 30, 2018 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...it seems likely that fans of Rawls' book will find plenty to embrace here. Rated: 3/4 Jun 21, 2007 Full Review John J. Puccio Movie Metropolis ...undoubtedly wholesome family entertainment, and I have no doubt that kids will enjoy it. For adults, the experience might be a tad more tiresome. annette Z I LOVE THIS MOVIE THE FIRST IS BETTER I THINK BUT THIS OK PRETTY GOOD Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/07/24 Full Review Audience Member Another movie where dogs DIE! No this is not a story, it panders to soap opera feelings at the expense of hunting dogs. Any real Coon hunter carries a firearm to dispatch the Coon. I hunt upland birds with birdshot and have buckshot as backup for wild board and wildcats. This movie is nonsense. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member It is a wonderful book and should be required reading in school. The 2004 movie followed the book better than the 1st movie. The actors did a great job. I grew up coon hunting and hunting with dogs, so I know the bond between a boy and his hounds. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Well, in all truth, I rented this because of Dave Matthews, because I love his music. I didn't know what to expect. And while he was ok, and this is a star filled cast, I did not like the movie. Very cheesy, very boring. Definitely not my cup of tea. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a great adaptation of the book and not great in other ways to cancel that out. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I think that this is family movie with a little bit of violence, but after seeing this I loved it so much!: ) If I were you,I would watch it.
