No this is not a story, it panders to soap opera feelings at the expense of hunting dogs. Any real Coon hunter carries a firearm to dispatch the Coon. I hunt upland birds with birdshot and have buckshot as backup for wild board and wildcats. This movie is nonsense. The 2004 movie followed the book better than the 1st movie. The actors did a great job. I grew up coon hunting and hunting with dogs, so I know the bond between a boy and his hounds.
