What to Know

Critics Consensus

Well-cast but lacking much of a spark, Your Place or Mine hits the standard genre beats just competently enough to remind the viewer of countless superior alternatives.

Audience Says

With a predictable story and a lack of chemistry between its stars, Your Place or Mine will disappoint most viewers looking for a good old-fashioned romantic comedy.

A mixed bag is maybe the best you can accomplish when you set out to structurally thread two storylines into one film, or rather when your film has to sustain two mirrored arcs whose intersection is the endpoint. Go to Full Review

It is an effective romantic comedy that, despite falling into some of the common places and becoming predictable, manages to captivate us with the construction of its characters and the chemistry developed by the actors. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

These are two characters that, for almost the entire duration of the movie, are never in the same room together. Go to Full Review

The leads of the film — Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher — spend most of their time in two different cities, and the split-screen plays spoilsport with the romantic tension. Go to Full Review

Antonia H Nov 17 I love Aston Kutcher and Reece Witherspoon, it reminded me of the 00’s rom coms, they both always starred in. Light hearted, a little cheesy, but thats what i loved about it! A feel good movie :) See more Natacha H Aug 22 Was already having a bad night. Ordered pizza and put this on hoping to cheer up. This movie made my night worse See more Ellyse R Dec 28 Quite literally one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. I don’t think a movie has ever made me so angry. See more Michelle G 11/03/2024 Disappointed. I usually love a good Ashton Kutcher Rom com and we haven't had one in a while. And who better for the female lead than Reese! However, we never get the two of them together through a majority of the movie. We see an opening scene where they romp and then a ton of split screen phone calls where there is no building of this supposed romance hiding within them. We get a little chemistry from Jesse and Reese and I was hoping this was going to be a scenario where Ashton and Reese discover they don't have feelings after all and she reconnects with Jesse but...no. There is this reunion at the end where we are supposed to feel something but feel nothing because we had no build up of this relationship. Great cast, horrible plot. See more Bobby K 10/11/2024 I don’t think I can recommend this movie just because it was so cheezie. Personally not my fav. It had some funny parts but very badly written See more Meri D @merid 09/12/2024 I enjoyed this film. I’m really surprised about the bad reviews. It was a pleasure to look at both their apartments which were both beautiful and I liked the story. Was it great, no but it was certainly enjoyable. It was a nice little romcom, perfectly enjoyable.
