Featuring stand-alone dramas -- sharp, suspenseful, satirical tales that explore techno-paranoia -- "Black Mirror" is a contemporary reworking of "The Twilight Zone" with stories that tap into the collective unease about the modern world. Each story features its own cast of unique characters, including stars like Bryce Dallas Howard ("The Help"), Alice Eve, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Tom Cullen and Jerome Flynn ("Game of Thrones"). Joe Wright, Dan Trachtenberg, and James Watkins are among the featured directors.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Responding to a world that's become just as technologically anxious as one of its speculative horror stories, Black Mirror refreshingly tacks toward more humanistic and hopeful tales in a superb return to form.

Emma Stefansky The Atlantic In an ever more app-based world, a future in which the decision to subscribe becomes a life-and-death matter is not all that difficult to imagine. Apr 18, 2025 Full Review David Bianculli NPR TV this good is a joy to watch. And TV this thought-provoking that has you remembering and relishing it for days and weeks afterward, that's not just a joy, "Black Mirror" is a treasure. Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Andy Crump Salon.com For a show comprising a scant 27 episodes to salvage itself for spare parts is unbecoming, not to mention dull; a show can only play the same note so many times before the piano string snaps. Jul 7, 2025 Full Review Mini Anthikad-Chhibber The Hindu A sequel to one of the best episodes of the sci-fi anthology, a creepy videogame, a tender romance, a meditation on the death of a relationship and Easter eggs galore… this glittery, gorgeous season of ‘Black Mirror’ has it all and then some May 16, 2025 Full Review Sarah Jessica Rintjema Exclaim! 'Black Mirror' now merely serves as a comfortable return to format, a sedative, some good ol' content slop for the Netflix trough during our spiralling descent into worldwide fascism. Anh H. I also like this season too Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/06/25 Full Review Matthew C Episode 1 - Wonderfully disturbing in that old school Black mirror sort of way. Episode 2 - Solid, until the awful ending. Episode 3 - Great idea, bad execution, sometimes boring, and Issa Rae is an awful dramatic actress. Episode 4 - Solid, but not great. Episode 5 - Beautifully heartbreaking and perfectly crafted. Best of the season, and one of the series best. Episode 6 - Not bad, but too long, and not as good as the original. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/21/25 Full Review Craig B All the series have been just brilliant Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/14/25 Full Review Stephen C 6 successful science fiction episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/04/25 Full Review Paul T Poor casting and storylines where critical elements of the plot are glossed over in such a simplistic manner that you just stop believing. It used to be thought provoking, now it lacks depth and authenticity. The casting is a real problem. One can only guess why they made the decisions they did. Overall I got halfway through episode 3 before my goodwill ran out. Brooker is clearly out of ideas and execution. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/01/25 Full Review Leaburn O Was hoping for better things after season 6. The final two episodes were a slight improvement on what came before but I’ve given up on this series now. Its heyday is now a distant memory. There’s only so many times I can now watch a half hearted concept come to fruition with a button put on the side of the head…seriously, it’s just such incredibly lazy writing now.
