Ncuti Gatwa's sly Time Lord has an excellent new foil in Varada Sethu, helping steer this latest slate of Doctor Who adventures on a starry path.

Jordan King Empire Magazine Who’s latest series opener — unlike the poor old TARDIS — just about manages to stick the landing.  Rated: 3/5 Apr 15, 2025 Full Review Fiona Sturges Financial Times Gatwa continues to dazzle as the 15th Doctor, lighting up the screen in a red tartan bomber jacket, pinstripe kilt and signature mile-wide smile. His doctor is mercurial, charismatic and not afraid to shed tears... Rated: 3/5 Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Michael Hogan Daily Telegraph (UK) The script fairly fizzes with ideas. Rated: 3/5 Apr 10, 2025 Full Review Michael Cook Geek Vibes Nation This is Doctor Who exactly as you know it and love it, for better or worse. In some ways, it’s less of a Brand New Season and more of a continuation of the previous. Rated: 8/10 Jul 18, 2025 Full Review William Tucker But Why Tho? A Geek Community Doctor Who Season 2 is one of the most diverse seasons ever. This is true of the cast, the characters, the attitudes, and the episodes, too. However, there is a lot of sadness around how premature it feels to see Gatwa go. Rated: 7/10 Jun 3, 2025 Full Review Matthew Simpson That Shelf It’s difficult to evaluate an entire series from just a single episode—we only got a peek at the premiere for this review—but rest assured that if you like Doctor Who, this is fun Doctor Who. Teliyah L. "Doctor Who" has made an exciting comeback with Ncuti Gatwa taking on the role of the Doctor, bringing a fresh and lively energy to the beloved series. His charming portrayal blends humor and depth, creating a character that is both relatable and fun. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/18/25 Full Review David E Another season wasted on poor writing, inconsistent world building, capped off with a poor lead actor. It is such a shame to see such a wonderful tv show fail miserably. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/01/25 Full Review Kristján Frosti B Starts of well, but fails to stick the landing and falls flat by the end. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/12/25 Full Review Jon H I so wanted to like this series and believe in the direction it was taking, but yet again for the second series running this was style over substance. None of the stories hit home, there are appalling character choices and again for the second year running, chooses to trash characters who have been loved for many years (this years vote for that goes to 1973's Omega - who has turned int a giant skeletal dog for "reasons" unknown). Even the best episode, Episode 3, "The Well", although visually stimulating and generally acted well, is let down by very poor structure. By the time the regeneration came in the final episode I was grateful that it was all over. If you like Doctor who I'd give this years episodes a miss Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/23/25 Full Review Mike H It's over! Thanks! It's over! What a nightmare! What a Doctor Who destruction. Bye. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/13/25 Full Review Thomas B I'm so sorry. I started out with 9th Doctor, whose anger and suffering was the good starting point of the reboot. Then I went through the first season of the 1st Doctor and, 60 tears later, still found it great. The I moved to the latest Doctor premiere season and I was disappointed, because it seemed a jigsaw puzzle with clashing pieces from different images. But still I hoped it could improve. Then the new Christmas special came and was, simply, a waste of the good things in it. The same is valid for the whole second season. I guess it was meant to be a climax for the Doctor, a new apex, but the best episode, imho, is the one almost without him and Belinda. We saw an unexpected rage, just like the one behind the eyes of the 9th Doctor. Then came episode 6 which is a landslide, a massive load of badly recycled stuff that is sold, imho , as the final step upwards for the Doctor. I'm really really disappointed with the mess they made in the final episodes. They might have been thinking they were restoring The Last Supper, but they have only asked the bill at the restaurant. I think I'll just turn myself backwards and look at what was there before and forget about this unlucky bad choice by BBC Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/11/25 Full Review Read all reviews
