It's said that for every 10 people who reach the summit of Mount Everest, one dies trying. Yet, even with the margin of error between life and death so fine, hundreds of climbers and Sherpas attempt to scale the epic peak each year. Their fate often rests in the hands of elite helicopter pilots performing one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. The six-episode "Everest Rescue" highlights the work of pilots, including veteran Jason Laing and rookies Ryan Skorecki and Lorenz Nufer, who risk their lives to save stranded climbers as well as in-distress men and women from surrounding Himalayan villages. The high altitude means there is limited time to complete the rescue missions, making them that much riskier.
