What to Know

Critics Consensus

Focused by a clearer throughline that doesn't skimp on melodrama, Ginny & Georgia's third season is still uneven but pulls off its most successful mix of froth and seriousness yet.

Rebecca Onion Slate Ginny & Georgia has become a show that makes people feel—and, dare I say, it’s actually … good? Jun 23, 2025 Full Review Matthew Creith TheWrap The backbone of “Ginny & Georgia” has always been the chemistry between its two leads, making the case for a complex mother-daughter relationship that borders on toxic as the series progresses. Jun 6, 2025 Full Review Valerie Anne Autostraddle I think this show does a really brilliant job of portraying the various ways mental illness can manifest, especially in teenagers. This season tugged at my heartstrings and pushed all my emotional buttons. Jun 6, 2025 Full Review Sarah Knight Adamson Sarah's Backstage Pass Ginny goes through some difficult situations, and through her journey, we see that she recovers just fine. On the other hand, Georgia’s past catches up with her as she’s in such an unlawful predicament that her husband, the Mayor, can’t even help her. Rated: 4/4 Jul 1, 2025 Full Review Lauren Veneziani WBAL-TV (Baltimore) Brianne Howey & Antonia Gentry continue to be an entertaining mother-daughter duo in this comedy/drama that gets a little more thrilling in Season 3! Felix Mallard & Sara Waisglass also shine. Rated: 4/5 Jun 23, 2025 Full Review Alison Rowat The Herald (Scotland) There’s a lightness of touch in the writing that is unlike any I’ve encountered before. Unimaginably awful things are dealt with in genuinely insightful ways. Jun 13, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Harry B Started this thinking it’d be a light teen drama, but Season 3 hit way deeper than expected. The way it explores depression, especially through Marcus, is raw and real without feeling forced. Felix Mallard’s performance is incredible — subtle but powerful. The show doesn’t rely on love triangles or cheap drama; it builds real emotional arcs, even for side characters. Honest, moving, and surprisingly profound. I’m less fan of Georgia’s storyline which felt quite unrealistic this season but everything involving the teens was deep and powerful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/25 Full Review André C The tone of Season 3 is completely different from the previous seasons. A much darker story but that still manages to surprise us. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/25/25 Full Review pan m Brilliant, funny, surprising and deeply moving on so many levels. Bring on the next seasons Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review olivia j I believe that this season (season 3) has been the best ever season of this series. very indulging. i always thought that ginny would be never be seen understanding her mother as much, but this time she really did step up! That's how it was supposed to be. Plus, talking about the way everyone acted, WOW!!!!! PHENOMENAL!!!! Looks like everyone challenged their capability to shoot this season, everyone just went over the border, which I, personally, absolutely loved. No matter what, I just loved the role of ginny!! As much as I hated her character before is how much I love it now. Plus, Paul Randolph, ughhhhh. I expected better from him though. Even ZIon too. Maxine?????? I love how she wanted to be there for everyone but she became so cringy, I mean I expected better from her as a character. Plus I do think ginny just shut her away for no apparent reason, she was rude to her man, but, maxine should be a little less needy and focus on creating value of her own by next season, buttt pleaseee DO NOT CHANGE HOW GNNY IS!!! Overall, loved the series and how profoundly it was executed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/08/25 Full Review Specialk M Season 3 brought out the emotions . I felt it let the actors use their talents and challenged them a bit more which I appreciated. It also allowed room for back stories of some of their characters to be explained hopefully next season. There were definitely moments that left me "thinking" after I did playback in my head. Again to be hopefully explained in season 4. 3 takeaways. 1 - the family dynamic of max and Marcus was REALLY GOOD. Marcus actor did sooo good. Also THANK YOU for including family that uses sign language. Done well. 2- the confusion how Gil could just slip out of courtroom and not surface again? Maybe a scene went to edit floor. 3- OK the voice change of Zion is odd. Maybe actor had a medical voice/speech issue but the way it was dubbed over or whichever was odd sounding. Could have written a speech issue into his character so easily acceptable by audience. Overall great matured characters and talent. Look forward to season 4 and characters have break out moments. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/08/25 Full Review Jane O I did not like the first season of this show but decided to give it another go recently and thought it hit its mark in the second season. Yet it’s the third season that deserves five stars. The writers and cast nail it with a family drama that’s as good as anything out there. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/01/25 Full Review Read all reviews
