When Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody returns home following eight years in captivity, CIA agent Carrie Mathison thinks he has turned and is connected to a terror plot to be carried out on American soil, so she engages him in a dangerous game of cat and mouse that puts America's national security at risk. Later on, Carrie gets a promotion and returns to the front lines overseas. She is assigned to one of the CIA's most volatile and dangerous stations in the Middle East, where she is in the heart of battle in the war on terror. Years later, after being disillusioned and placing herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, Carrie becomes estranged from the CIA, eventually returning stateside where she works for a foundation providing aid to Muslims living in America.

Eric Deggans Tampa Bay Times It's even flavored with a bit of sexism, since there are no other high-ranking CIA agents shown who are female. Dec 4, 2019 Full Review William Thomas Empire Magazine There is a point in Homeland's second season where this ceases to be a slow-burning espionage thriller and turns into a silly season of 24. Still, there are enough great moments to keep your interest. For now. Rated: 3/5 Nov 2, 2017 Full Review Mike Hale New York Times The combination of adult intelligence and crisp action is still pretty much unmatched on American television. Sep 30, 2012 Full Review Adam Sweeting The Arts Desk Powerful return for Emmy-winning war-on-terror thriller. Jul 23, 2018 Full Review Lorrie Moore The New York Review of Books The problem with the Brody-Carrie "love" is that it is unconvincing, and it is unconvincing for many reasons having to do with common sense. Mar 28, 2017 Full Review Andy Wong We Got This Covered It's been a good season of Homeland, though no where near as excellent as last year. Let's hope they have better thing in store for us come season 3. Rated: 7/10 Sep 27, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews

Chris M A tremendous thriller that will keep you watching as the characters and plot gets even more exciting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Just as the first season, this second season just nails the acting skills and the plotline is even more entertaining than the first season. Absolute Must See!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review the s This series is the exact opposite of garbage like American Horror Story. That alone is reason to watch it. It feels like it was written more in the style of a book rather than a TV series or film and that adds to the way that the plot builds. It's not a complex path from plot development to conclusion…it just builds at a steady, interesting pace and each episode completes another piece of the puzzle of what becomes the overall picture. It's easy to watch but it's almost one of the more complex series (or at least was at the time of production). Series have come a long way over the past decade but the majority are just crappy franchises and profit vehicles for studios who are chasing after that endless story that will hook and capture audiences enough that they'll keep their subscriptions. This series was about telling a story so they didn't drag audiences out too far or too long…each season had its own main plot and that plot typically tied itself up by the end. Producers depended on solid writing, acting and storytelling to keep audiences coming back…not endless gimmicks and a never ending story (think Handmaid's Tale) that go nowhere but circles until they've literally bored even the most ardent fans into numbness. Kudos to the producers for making something of substance that actually went somewhere. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Nicht alle Aspekte des Deals mit diesem Unternehmen sind ideal Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Homeland delivers a thrilling second season as the stakes get higher and secrets are revealed. When Brody's suicide tape is discovered during a mission in Beirut, Carrie is brought back into the CIA to run an operation to uncover Body's terrorist cell; meanwhile Vice President Walden courts Body as a potential running mate for the upcoming election. Once again Claire Danes and Damian Lewis give excellent performances that are extremely compelling. And the writers do an extraordinary job at building the tension and suspense, and at constructing the season story arc. They also continue to probe topical sociopolitical issues in interesting ways. Additionally, the action scenes are intense and exciting, heightening the drama, and enough can't be said about the mind-bending season finale that changes everything. Delving deep into the world of espionage, terrorism, and politics, Season 2 of Homeland is incredibly powerful and full of intrigue. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member American propaganda us against them type of thing. Truly detestable only white americans warmongers love this type of BS.
