Soaring high with its immaculate production design and acutely well-observed characters, Masters of the Air can stand proud alongside its sibling series Band of Brothers and The Pacific.

Bellingham Y I enjoyed the series. I actually signed up for Apple Tv plus just to watch it. I work with a lot of military and they kept talking about so I had to watch. All the characters are based on real life people and what they went through is incredible. I never knew about the bloody 100 and the only 23% survival rate. Get assigned to that group you have a much greater chance of dying than living. The friendship between Buck and Bucky was so strong and Austin Butler and Callum Turner did a great job of portraying the characters. I looked forward to each Friday turning out a new episode. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review John K I love all WWII series and they nailed this one with the actors and characters. Still in awe of the casualties the bombers sustained. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/25/24 Full Review Director K Awesome and very good show! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/21/24 Full Review Audience Member It's shockingly bad. I wanted to like it but there's practically nothing to like. The acting is ABYSMAL, the script gives me secondhand embarrassment, the visuals are like a budget indie from 2005, the characters are shallow and literally forgettable, and the storyline is repetitive and uninspiring. I'd give it no stars if I could. I would have been embarrassed to have my name associated with this sophomoric production. It would have been better had they not created the series at all. It's a blemish on the WWII genre. Rarely does a series or movie actually make me angry with how poorly done it is but this one has done it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/19/24 Full Review Paul A excellent show anytime Tom Hicks involved you know it's gonna be good Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Stan N Good one, even though some moments are banal the overall impression is very good and the ending was terrific. No false heroism, war is shown in its dirt and tragedy. Highly recommended indeed. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mike Hale New York Times Orloff and Shiban make choices that are in some cases puzzling, in others explicable but dramatically wrongheaded. Mar 15, 2024 Full Review Graeme Blundell The Australian It was tough to make out what was going on, and it’s the same with Masters of the Air. The fog of war is deep indeed. Feb 17, 2024 Full Review Michael Idato The Age (Australia) Masters of the Air attempts the same [as Band of Brothers and The Pacific] but with less success. And yet, it holds itself together. Mostly. Cary Joji Fukunaga’s direction is crisp. Rated: 3/5 Feb 2, 2024 Full Review Ana Yorke PopMatters Masters of the Air is an exciting and weighty binge-watch opportunity for fans of big-budget action rooted in history, and especially Dune acolytes craving another fix of their newest obsession, i.e., Butler... Apr 8, 2024 Full Review Susan Granger SSG Syndicate Gripping, exhausting and exhilarating, this W.W.II series chronicles how the "Bloody 100th" - flying B-17s - brought the fighting to Hitler's doorstep, setting the stage for D-Day. Rated: 8/10 Mar 31, 2024 Full Review Audrey Fox Looper.com For aviation enthusiasts, the dogfights in Masters of the Air will likely be a dream come true, but for more casual audiences, they tend to be a little static.
