"Mr Inbetween" is a half-hour comedy series inspired by the cult film "The Magician" and centers around Ray Shoesmith. Juggling a relationship, parental responsibilities, friendships and a sick brother while earning a living would be difficult for anyone, but it's particularly difficult for Ray since he's a criminal for hire. Ray "takes care of people" -- collecting debts, relieving them of drugs and guns, and often taking care of them on a more permanent basis. Ray demands respect and does not tolerate it when someone disregards his very clear code of ethics. Read More Read Less

Debi Enker The Age (Australia) A dark, glittering gem. Jan 15, 2020 Full Review Alan Sepinwall Rolling Stone The huge improvement from an already solid first season to this tremendous second one has me wondering if Mr. Inbetween has another big leap in it. Nov 22, 2019 Full Review Graeme Blundell The Australian Edgerton, as director, achieves a delicate counterpoint between the ironic and the gruesome, no easy task -- it is really very funny. Sep 20, 2019 Full Review Alex Behan Stuff.co.nz Funny, violent and unpredictably touching, this series is very Australian. Aug 20, 2021 Full Review Simon Miraudo Student Edge There was plainly nothing better on TV in 2019. Rated: 5/5 Nov 28, 2019 Full Review Kevin Yeoman Screen Rant Season 2 elevates the series on nearly every level, from Ryan's writing and acting to the performances of the supporting cast and the directing of Nash Edgerton. Tim K Easily the best Aussie show ever made and among the best series of all time. The standout is the realistic dialogue. Too many shows have this fast unrealistic ‘say the perfect thing every time without thinking’ style dialogue. Mr Inbetween is very different, sounding so much like real life yet always being interesting at the same time. Everything else about the show is also very real. It’s never boring yet never ‘Holywood’. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be a normal bloke/single father living in Sydney while killing people for money on the side, this documentary is for you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/23/24 Full Review Audience Member The best TV series to ever come out of Australia. It’s criminal that more people don’t know about this show!!!! Crimes is not my cup of tea and yet - finished watching all the episodes. the movie is not like anything else you have been watching. so far Very unique and original. Fast paced, and entertaining. You will not regret watching it. One tip though: I suggest you have your close captions 'On". They helped me understand dialogs in Australian accent better. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review evan j Episode 4. That is peak TV. The emotion of anger loss and heartache coupled with satisfying conclusion. With Dennis Denuto the lawyer of all people! Nothing gets close to this show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews
