"Mr Inbetween" is a half-hour comedy series inspired by the cult film "The Magician" and centers around Ray Shoesmith. Juggling a relationship, parental responsibilities, friendships and a sick brother while earning a living would be difficult for anyone, but it's particularly difficult for Ray since he's a criminal for hire. Ray "takes care of people" -- collecting debts, relieving them of drugs and guns, and often taking care of them on a more permanent basis. Ray demands respect and does not tolerate it when someone disregards his very clear code of ethics.

Debi Enker The Age (Australia) A dark, glittering gem. Jan 15, 2020 Full Review Alan Sepinwall Rolling Stone The huge improvement from an already solid first season to this tremendous second one has me wondering if Mr. Inbetween has another big leap in it. Nov 22, 2019 Full Review Graeme Blundell The Australian Edgerton, as director, achieves a delicate counterpoint between the ironic and the gruesome, no easy task -- it is really very funny. Sep 20, 2019 Full Review Alex Behan The Post NZ Funny, violent and unpredictably touching, this series is very Australian. Aug 20, 2021 Full Review Simon Miraudo Student Edge There was plainly nothing better on TV in 2019. Rated: 5/5 Nov 28, 2019 Full Review Kevin Yeoman Screen Rant Season 2 elevates the series on nearly every level, from Ryan's writing and acting to the performances of the supporting cast and the directing of Nash Edgerton. Pedro C Season 1 blew my mind, and I couldn't believe season 2 could top that, but top it, it did. The only things I'm mad about is that it took me so long to discover this show... and, well, that I don't have much left to watch. Go see this, now! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/13/25 Full Review Slick R Wow, S2 was better than S1. The characters are all amazing and unique. You rarely see that nowdays. Ray is like a vigilante who deals in killing people lol S2 was by far the best out of all 3 seasons. There was so much going on. Ray has to deal with his daughter who btw is super good actor, she's so funny! He also has to deal with his brother and Dad. He has to deal with his gf. Then he has to deal with his job and "coworkers". This show is basically like Ray Donovan but down under but this Ray does anything for money. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/09/25 Full Review Shaun R One of the very best series. Outstanding in how it seamlessly combines genuinely funny moments with moments of tragedy and violence. A great character who is realistically casual yet deadly. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/03/25 Full Review Andrew H Brilliant. Up there with breaking bad Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/25 Full Review Tim H I haven’t seen anything better than this on Television. Ray grows stronger all the while maintaining humanity for those who really deserve it. Those who don’t are served their just desserts in the manner of the Magician. Nobody is left in any doubt. The marvellous dialogue captures the essence of the Aussie underworld speak with its hooks and laughs as Ray negotiates life and his work in security. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/20/24 Full Review Shaka T And it gets better! Missing child story had my pulse quickening throughout. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/22/24 Full Review Read all reviews
