When one cable network finds success with a particular genre, others often join the party with similar shows. CMT has decided to combine two popular types of shows, those that take place in swamps with those that take place in pawnshops. Introducing "Swamp Pawn," a docuseries that follows Rick Phillips, the proprietor of Phillips Seafood in Bayou Pigeon, La. As you might expect, the shop isn't your typical pawnshop. It trades in anything that the bayou serves up, from alligators and bullfrogs to crawfish and everything in between. Quirky locals make their living fishing, hunting and haggling in the small community, where Phillips' business acts as the lifeblood of the area. The closest thing to a mayor that Bayou Pigeon has, Phillips is tough but always lends a hand to help friends and strangers alike. Others featured on the show include legendary gator hunter Chachie Boy and father-son fishing duo Coy and Shorty.
