Ari Shaffir
American comedian, podcaster and producer Ari Shaffir was born the son of a Holocaust survivor on February 12, 1974 in New York City. After graduating college, Shaffir moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in stand-up comedy despite having almost no experience. He got a job at The Comedy Store answering phones and spent nearly five years watching others perform before earning a spot as a paid regular on the stage. He gained recognition for his video series, "The Amazing Racist" and began touring with other comedians such as Joe Rogan and Tom Segura in the 2000s. He released his first stand-up album "Revenge for the Holocaust" (2012) which debuted at number one on iTunes. Meanwhile Shaffir co-created and presented the television show "This Is Not Happening" (Comedy Central, 2015-19). What began as a live-streamed show became a Comedy Central staple for four seasons. Shaffir moved to Netflix for his special "Double Negative" (Netflix, 2017). Ari Shaffir has made regular appearances podcasting on "The Joe Rogan Experience" and started his own podcasts: "Skeptic Tank" in 2011 and "Punch Drunk Sports" in 2013.
