Duke Goldstone

At the age of 18, Louis 'Duke' Goldstone moved from his home in Omaha, Nebraska to Hollywood. He began his entertainment career as a property man at Universal Studios and later became an editor and director at Paramount, RKO and Pathe, working mostly on short films. Goldstone worked for Swift-Chaplin productions, directing classic animated commercials featuring memorable characters such as the Jolly Green Giant, Speedy Alka-Seltzer, and the Hamm's Bear. He continued his work on television, directing "Life With Elizabeth," Betty White's first sitcom. He also directed variety shows for Liberace, Frankie Lane, Horace Heidt, Connie Haines and Florian Zabach. In 1965, Goldstone established RFG Associates, an industrial film company that for 30 years produced hundreds of commercial and educational films.
