The work of Australia-born Garth Davis has been recognized in every major award show around the world. Garth directed several episodes of the Emmy award-winning drama series "Top of the Lake" (BBC Two, 2013 and 2017), alongside director Jane Campion, for which he received nominations for both Emmy and BAFTA awards. He is best known for his directorial feature debut "Lion" (2016), which was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture, and for which Davis won a Directors Guild of America Award. Following "Lion," Davis released his second feature film "Mary Magdalene" (2018), starring Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix. Most recently, Davis has finished post-production on the feature film "Foe," starring Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal. The film is based on the Iain Reid sci-fi novel of the same name, and is scheduled for release in October, 2023. His commitment to detail, cinematic sensibilities and deep appreciation of the actor-director relationship are his trademark.
