One of Hollywood's most successful and well-regarded film producers, Ian Bryce has attached himself to some of the biggest box office triumphs of the '90s and '00s. The British-born Bryce began his career as a production assistant on the third installment of the original "Star Wars" trilogy, 1983's "Return of the Jedi." He eventually moved up the ranks to second-line director on the Steven Spielberg movie blockbuster "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" (1984) and the Lynda Carter/Loni Anderson-starred TV drama, "Partners in Crime." Despite Bryce's seemingly obvious trajectory towards a directorial debut of his own, beginning with the '85 "Star Wars"-related adventure "Ewoks: The Battle for Endor," he switched course to production work. Bryce has gone on to produce for the likes of Cameron Crowe (on the Oscar-winning 2000 drama "Almost Famous") to Sam Raimi (on the 2002 action blockbuster "Spider-Man"), and earned his highest honors with an Oscar nod and PGA Award win for his work on the gritty 1998 war drama "Saving Private Ryan." Meanwhile, after starting out with "Star Wars," one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood history, he spent the latter '00s and '10s producing his own juggernaut--the "Transformers" film series.
