Jay Barney was an accomplished actor who appeared in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. Barney began his career with roles in "First Love" (NBC, 1953-56) and "Battle Taxi" (1955). Barney began to focus on film after appearing in the Jose Ferrer dramatic adaptation "The Shrike" (1955), the musical "Mister Rock and Roll" (1957) with Alan Freed and the Howard Keel dramatic adaptation "The Big Fisherman" (1959). He also appeared in the action picture "Blueprint For Robbery" (1960) with J Pat O'Malley. Later in his career, Barney acted in the dramatic adaptation "The Killing Fields" (1984) with Sam Waterston. Barney passed away in May 1985 at the age of 72.
