Actor John Bird appeared in a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Bird kickstarted his acting career in various films such as the Dudley Moore comedy adaptation "30 Is a Dangerous Age, Cynthia" (1968), the suspenseful adaptation "A Dandy in Aspic" (1968) with Laurence Harvey and "The Best House in London" (1969) with David Hemmings. He also appeared in the drama "Take a Girl Like You" (1970) with Noel Harrison, "Pleasure at Her Majesty's" (1976) and the mystery "The Seven Per-Cent Solution" (1976) with Alan Arkin. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the seventies and the eighties, appearing in "Jabberwocky" (1977), the Rowan Atkinson comedy "The Secret Policeman's Other Ball" (1981) and "Return to Snowy River Part II, The Legend Continues" (1988). In the eighties through the nineties, Bird lent his talents to projects like "The Madonna of Medjugorje" (PBS, 1987-88), "Bejewelled" (Disney, 1990-91) and "The Sins of the Fathers" (PBS, 1991-92). His credits also expanded to "Loch Ness" (1996) starring Kirsty Graham and "The Thin Red Line" (1998). Most recently, Bird appeared in "Going for Gold - The '48 Games" (BBC, 2011-12). John Bird died on December 24, 2022 in West Sussex, United Kingdom at the age of 86.
