Kung fu and wushu practitioner Jon Foo became a dominant force in the world of martial arts cinema before attracting mainstream attention with a lead role in police procedural "Rush Hour" (CBS, 2016-). Born in London in 1982 to a Chinese father and Irish mother, Foo was encouraged to pursue an interest in martial arts from a young age and after honing his skills in the circus and at Beijing's Shichahai Sports School, first put them to use on screen as villainous minion Sam in Hong Kong actioner "House of Fury" (2005). Later the same year, Foo played a wushu expert in "Warrior King" (2005) and a street fighter in revenge thriller "Left for Dead" (2005) before venturing outside his comfort zone with a supporting role in teen comedy drama "Shi cha qi xiao shi" (2005). Following a four-year break from the industry, Foo returned to the fold with a minor part in "Universal Soldier: Regeneration" (2009) and enjoyed leading man status as Jin Kazama, the rebellious teen fighter who attempts to avenge the death of his mother, in video game adaptation "Tekken" (2010). Foo then brought another iconic gaming character to life when he played Ryu in the short film "Streetfighter: Legacy" (2011), and continued to build a reputation as a rising action star with roles as trained lethal killer Manit in "Bangkok Revenge" (2011), and Mercy, a black ops soldier forced to fight his way out of a maximum security prison, in "Extraction" (2013). After playing warrior Yang in fantasy adventure "Vikingdom" (2013) and adding action thriller "4Got10" (2015) and robotic virus sci-fi flick "WEAPONiZED" (2016) to his filmography, Foo moved into television for the first time when he was cast as the diligent Detective Lee, a role previously occupied on the big screen by Jackie Chan, in the adaptation of buddy-cop comedy "Rush Hour" (CBS, 2016).
