Karim Jallal
Karim Jallal is an actor who first gained notice with his debut film role in "La ferme des humains" (2013). Jallal had no prior acting credits prior to landing the lead role in the Montreal-set drama, but his portrayal of a Moroccan immigrant with no job or direction in life was well-received by the French-Canadian press. Jallal may have been a no-name actor when he landed the lead, but his realistic portrayal in "La ferme des humains" quickly put him on the map as a young actor to watch. "La ferme des humains," directed by Turkish-born writer/director Onur Karaman, tells the story of three young men living in Montreal whose lives are headed nowhere fast. Karaman cast Jallal as the lead, a Moroccan immigrant named Karim. Jallal's character is a rebellious young man who rejects his parents' strict upbringing. Together with his friends, played by Raphaël Lacaille and Dominic Quarré, Karim spends his days in a local park, where he smokes marijuana, drinks beer, and curses out anyone and everyone who passes by. Jallal was widely praised for his believable and authentic performance.
