As CEO of film/tv development and production company Patriot Pictures LLC, Michael Mendelsohn and the Patriot team have produced multiple films including "I Am Michael" (2015) starring James Franco, Zachary Quinto, Emma Roberts and Executive Produced by Gus Van Sant, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, "I Am Wrath" (2016) starring John Travolta, "Hangman" (2017) starring Al Pacino and Brittany Snow and "Running with the Devil" (2019) by Navy SEAL Jason Cabell and starring Nicolas Cage and Laurence Fishburne. This film was on the Top 10 Netflix Worldwide views list. Also "Zeroville" (2019) starring James Franco, Megan Fox, Seth Rogan and Will Ferrell "Synchronic" (2019) starring Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan and was the #1 movie on Netflix US and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2019, "Cut Throat City" (2020) directed by Wu Tang Clan's RZA and starring Terrence Howard, Westley Snipes, Kat Graham, and Ethan Hawke premiered at South by Southwest 2020. It was also the #1 movie on Netflix US. Mendelsohn has arranged production financing for over 258 films, such as Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs" (1992), Samuel Goldwyn Jr.'s "The Madness of King George" (1994) - which was nominated for four Academy Awards, "Air Force One" (1997) starring Harrison Ford, Wachowski Sisters' "The Matrix" (1999), "What Women Want" (2000) starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt. Also "The Gift" (2000) starring Cate Blanchett and Keanu Reeves, "The Mothman Prophecies" (2002) starring Richard Gere and "Material Girls" (2006) starring Hilary and Haylie Duff and Anjelica Huston released by MGM,. Mendelsohn is a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School. He studied Economics with a major in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management and a minor in English and Russian Literature.
