Monte Montague

Monte Montague was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Montague landed roles in various films, including the Hoot Gibson western "Hey! Hey! Cowboy" (1927), "The Rambling Ranger" (1927) and "The Wild West Show" (1928). He also appeared in "Quick Trigger Lee" (1931) and "Outlawed Guns" (1935). He continued to act in productions like "Guns of the Pecos" (1936), the Smith Ballew western "Roll Along Cowboy" (1937) and "The Californian" (1937). He also appeared in "The Phantom of Santa Fe" (1937) and the Claire Trevor western "Allegheny Uprising" (1939). Nearing the end of his career, he tackled roles in "Code of the Streets" (1939) with Harry Carey, "The Renegade Ranger" (1939) and "Wagon Train" (1940). He also appeared in "Young Bill Hickok" (1940) and the western "King of the Texas Rangers" (1941) with "Slingin Sammy" Baugh. Montague was most recently credited in the Tom Cruise blockbuster dramatic adaptation "Interview With the Vampire" (1994). Montague passed away in April 1959 at the age of 68.
