Multitalented cinematographer Peter Lyons Collister is not only the cameraman behind an impressive array of films ranging from the 2005 remake of the horror cult classic "The Amityville Horror" to the slapstick simian comedy "Dunston Checks In," but also a licensed commercial helicopter pilot. He kicked off his earthbound career as a second unit director of photography on the steamy Brooke Shields adventure film "The Blue Lagoon." Lyons Collister's visual flexibility proved among his strongest assets, and he picked up where the principal cinematographers of the action thriller "The Rock," the East meets West action comedy sequel "Rush Hour 3," and the action comedy reboot "The Green Hornet." His resume of first-unit work is more impressive still. Lyons Collister worked with Adam Sandler on his farcical high society adaptation of "Mr. Deeds," and teamed with director Mike Mitchell on both the raucous "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" and the 2004 holiday flick "Surviving Christmas." The impressive DP garnered a reputation for being uniquely suited to handle live-action/CG-animated hybrid films, having shot the Bill Murray fat-cat comedy "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties." He went on to lens two rodent-centric family films: "Alvin and the Chipmunks" and the Easter bunny romp "Hop," both under director Tim Hill. Lyons Collister is a longtime member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
