Ray Smith was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Smith's early acting career mostly consisted of roles in various films, such as the Richard Burton dramatic adaptation "Under Milk Wood" (1971), the Carol White dramatic adaptation "Made" (1975) and "Operation Daybreak" (1975) with Timothy Bottoms. He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Look Back in Darkness" (ABC, 1974-75) and "Madame Bovary" (PBS, 1976-77). He also landed a role in the miniseries "Masada" (1980-81). In the seventies and the eighties, he worked on the television shows "The Citadel" (PBS, 1983-84) and "Dempsey and Makepeace" (1985-86). His career progressed to film, including a role in the drama "The Sailor's Return" (1978) with Tom Bell. He also appeared in "Three For the Road" (1987). Additionally, he could be seen on a variety of television specials like "Joyce Carol Oates" (PBS, 1989-1990) and "High Stakes in Cyberspace" (PBS, 1995-96). Smith most recently appeared on "Special Ops: Operation Desert Storm" (History, 2000-01).
