Ron Wood
"The new kid" in the global juggernaut known as the Rolling Stones, guitarist Ron Wood actually played with the British rock group for over three decades, longer than any of his predecessors, including group co-founder Brian Jones. His lasting power was due in part to his enormous versatility as a performer and songwriter, which included stints in the 1960s-era outfits The Birds and The Creation, as well as chart-topping success as a member of the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces, both in collaboration with Rod Stewart. However, most of these efforts - which also included a critically acclaimed side career as an artist - were overshadowed by his work with the Rolling Stones, which toured ceaselessly throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, reaping millions for its players.
