Steven Anderson is a premier make-up artist responsible for some of the most fantastical and innovative-looking characters in film. One of his earlier films, the 1988 fantasy epic "Willow," with its trolls and brownies and other wondrous creatures, represented just a small preview of what Anderson planned to offer audiences over the next few decades. He has since worked on a number of successful science fiction and fantasy franchises. Anderson was enlisted twice by the Wachowski brothers for the futuristic thrill rides "The Matrix Reloaded " and "The Matrix Revolutions." He also served as make-up artist for Gore Verbinski's "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." In that film, Anderson had to fashion historically convincing make-up not only for the diverse lot of human characters from the seafaring days of the East India Company, but also for a whole host of bizarre beasts (such as the cursed crew of the infamous ship the Flying Dutchman).
