Ellen E Jones Guardian Even knowing and appreciating the artifice doesn't entirely deprive the film of its eerie power. Rated: 4/5 Oct 20, 2020 Full Review Dolores Quintana Dolores Quintana ANTRUM: THE DEADLIEST FILM EVER MADE is a mind bomb that is precisely calculated to grow on you. It is quite a feat for a film to have its artifice laid bare and still be able to wrap cold fingers around your spine. Dec 28, 2022 Full Review Alix Turner Ready Steady Cut A film from the 1970s about a brother and sister who endeavor to dig a hole into Hell; all wrapped up within a contemporary documentary about this film's curse. Or at least so it seems. Rated: 4/5 Feb 9, 2021 Full Review Tom Beasley Flickering Myth The mockumentary structure seems to simply be a way to smuggle a very subpar horror movie into the world, using the clothing of something far more interesting. Rated: 2/5 Nov 16, 2020 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film There's a genuine creepiness about it, and it will haunt you. Rated: 5/5 Oct 26, 2020 Full Review Emma Wolfe SpookyAstronauts All of these themes are so powerful yet the storyline is so simple and that's the genius of it but unfortunately I find the film does a disservice by hyping itself. Audience Member I can't believe how boring this was! The documentary angle is barely there and doesn't add much except that the supposedly spliced in extras are the only interesting thing in the entire movie. The film within the movie is so boring I started fast forwarding through parts where literally nothing was happening for long periods. It wasn't powerful in any way. Not scary, not moving, not nothing. They didn't even do a particularly good job at capturing the time period. Skip it! I don't get the hype. I understand what they were doing but they failed miserably. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/27/25 Full Review Joe B I was edging to the film from start to finish Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review Lucas C An interesting idea, but frankly the "documentary" aspects of it should have been left behind. Explaining the weird little images that pop up only diminishes their creep-factor. The actual "movie" is pretty good for a low-budget spooky show. The little boy is great. It veers into weird territory in the third act and some of it works, some of it not so much. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/24/24 Full Review Stephen D Basically a less interesting and less well written version of House of Leaves, turned into a B-reel horror movie. I would recommend you watch it at least once. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/13/24 Full Review Nadia V This movie allegedly kills everyone who watches it. Great "marketing strategy" I suppose but I've seen it twice. It was awful. Also, I'm still alive. It's a horrible movie promoted with a great gimmick, much like Paranormal Activity. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/24 Full Review Chelsea T interesting concept. the "movie" wasn't overly scary. creepiest bit was the hunters- seemed like the most real hell on earth. the rest pretty was unbelievable- where's mom?
