Audience Member It takes a soul of great patience and bravery to take on the likes of a Bill Zebub film. Many preach against it, but all cannot help but to judge of book by its cover, especially a Bill Zebub film, which is guaranteed to be covered in practically naked women sporting very little lingerie and/or censor bars around their cooch's and breastesis. Though at first glance, may make think this is pure, hardcore trash, but not everything is as it seems. Assmonster concerns lead character Bill (Zebub himself) meeting a hack horror director who makes crappy horror movies, burns them to DVDrs and makes a killing selling them at conventions. Inspired, Bill and his friends attempt to do the same and film their movie, Assmonster, about a brutal serial rapist who attacks women and their asses. The end result is one disaster after another as Bill has to contend with demanding actors, bad crewmembers, a whiny girlfriend, and several other problems marring his film's production. Along the way, Zebub shows us his love of naked chicks (plenty afoot showing boobs, butts, and bushes), heavy metal (Zebub is a big figure in the metal world and manages to put together an amazing soundtrack), and comedy. The comedy is this film's biggest asset. Zebub not only loves horror and metal, but he has a huge appreciation for comedy and it shows here. While it's not to everyone's demands of mainstream comedy, Zebub manages to incite several laughs and gags that heavily mirror the early work of Kevin Smith. In fact, I couldn't help but think of Clerks several times throughout watching Assmonster. Definitely low-budget underground schlock, but if you're a fan of all of the aforementioned items, you may find a new hero in Bill Zebub. I know I have! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Mon premier film de Fantasia 2007.
