Carp S 3d This movie is one to watch late at night, maybe alone if your partner isn't the romantic type. But if they are, you both may be needing tissues. It is such a sweet "novel type" movie from day gone by, when the movies were, soulfully written with wisdom to share, beautifully filmed and left the audience spiritually moved by the the best part of humanity, love. See more Jithin K 11/27/2024 Right from the beginning, one thing was there that had to be looked over to enjoy the movie. Just because the actress acts without any makeup we have to believe that she is an ugly woman. When the characters started speaking like that it didn't make any sense. Having that placed in the center of the movie, it isn't easy to enjoy it, but I considered it was a different time and it's Hollywood, but still there should be something in the movie to come over that and there was. There is a beautiful scene after that where two lonely women talk about how the world takes granted a lot of things that a few don't enjoy which alone made this movie worth so much to me because of how much those exact words meant to me. But then again, the fake beautification, so that it could reveal the beauty of true love can be shown. The beauty in the eye of the beholder due to true love is an incredible concept but the concept of being ugly and not ugly that is used here is so stupid. Also, the guy gets a war injury and the girl is just ugly? Overall, there are some great moments that I loved and some aspects I hated. Dorothy McGuire, Robert Young and Mildred Natwick play it so you live it, you are there! This is an excellent film with dialogue which so many films seem to have forgotten. Two broken people find each other and despite the brokenness make each other whole through love. It's said that love is blind, that it prevents us from seeing the faults of each other. That's only partially true. It can also open our eyes to the best in a person, some of the things that ambivalence doesn't allow others to see. But people who truly love one another see youth, beauty and vibrance no matter what's on the outside of a person.
