Nicole L I didn't predict any of the movie. A story told a different way. I was interested the whole way through. It had a few scares but could of used a few more of those. There's a few questions left unanswered. Without spoiling anything, they had a box. Where did it come from? Did the entity need the box to "haunt"? I actually like it when some things are left to interpretation. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/11/23 Full Review Liam D It does it's job well and they is some good scares but it feels a little bit generic for my taste but not the worst horror movie I've seen Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Meydiana R I watched it when I was 15 years old. My first horror movie Beautifully Shot, but could have been scarier... I actually liked this story a lot. Loved the characters, the situation, the plot and definitely the cinematography. The two lead kids were very convincing and very likable. You rooted for them the whole time. My only complaint is that there could have been a lot more jump out of your seat scary tactics they should have used to add more horror. The setting was perfect as a cold old house somewhere in Canada most likely. Very isolated and creepy while also being very picturesque and beautiful. Everything that was done in the movie was done well, lots of good production value. Direction and acting was very convincing by all the characters. The scary old box they find looks really vintage and perfect for what it is supposed to be. I just wish the movie was scarier. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie had potential to be a great horror film but it wasn't enough, it needed more to it. Some parts were cheesy and also some parts were not scary at all. The only good thing about this film was the opening part of the movie, and that's what I was expecting but I end up getting nothing. So for this being another horror disapointment and not delivering what we wanted to see, and just being a complete mess, I give " Haunt " a D-. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review don s I was pleasantly surprised by the indie supernatural horror movie. A family, coincidentally made up of the same number of children and of the same genders, moves into a house in which the previous family (all but 1) ended up dead. The community says the house is haunted and the surviving member of the family is insane. Evan, the 18 year old son, falls for a neighborhood girl who is beaten by her drunk father nearly nightly. She begins staying over; she and Evan begin trying to contact the dead. The spiritual antics begin... There a couple of decent jump scares, some fairly good effects for a low budget movie, and creepy atmosphere. The ending is foreshadowed, more than once, and the story holds up logically. Could have been better, but good for what it is. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Making a virtue of unoriginality, this clammy little ghost story, confidently directed by Mac Carter, conjures a whole heap of atmosphere from little more than clever camera angles and bedsheet apparitions. Mar 6, 2014 Full Review Robert Abele Los Angeles Times By the time the final act unleashes its revelations and peril, "Haunt" has felt more like an exercise in formal spookiness than a full-blooded story of lingering malevolence. Mar 6, 2014 Full Review Jordan Hoffman New York Daily News There's lots of mixed film stock and screeches on the soundtrack (as in the credits for "Seven"), but this gets annoying, as do the predictable twists. Rated: 1/5 Mar 6, 2014 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Chugs along until it finally arrives at a revelation that feels as predictable as it is unenthusiastically rendered. Aug 29, 2019 Full Review Frank Ochieng What Culture However if your ideal horror ride consists of a slight, choppy-driven chiller with a wicked streak of understated genuine jolts then fine there is a certain abandoned haunted house in the woods that is waiting for your arrival not to mention your approval Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 11, 2018 Full Review Heather Wixson Daily Dead While it may not necessarily give horror fans a case of the heebie jeebies any time soon, it's just nice to see a moderate supernatural thriller actually put forth some effort and not just give us another paint-by-numbers spookfest Rated: 3/5 Jan 8, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews
