ashley h Huddle is an amazing film. It is about Tony, the son of Italian immigrants, works in a smoky steel mill in Gary, Indiana and he wins a company scholarship which will enable him to attend Yale college. Ramon Novarro and Madge Evans give excellent performances. The screenplay is well written. Sam Wood did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and romance. Huddle is a must see. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member so so football drama & vehicle 4 roman navarro. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm not a big football fan, but I have no problem getting into a good football movie. Any Given Sunday is pretty great. And even though I didn't like Letherheads, the football scenes were very good. But there's something about football movies made in the 1930s. I just have yet to see one that's actually good. Huddle is enjoyable thanks to the presence of Madge Evans and Una Merkel. But it's a dull college football story, and believe me, those are the worst (I still can't get the atrocity of "This is College" out of my head). And Ramon Novarro being pushed as ANYTHING manly.... that's just ain't happening. I'm pretty sure Ramon Novarro is the gayest man who ever lived (and I'm not just saying that to be mean. He really was gay. His murder - while mostly being about money he didn't actually have - was in part a hate crime.) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
