Ronnie Scheib Variety Vikram delivers a knockout three-pronged performance, but this cinematic bravura is offset by underdeveloped scripting, flatly one-dimensional villains and overdone lone-hero-vs.-swarms-of-murderous-attackers setpieces. Jan 19, 2015 Full Review Rachel Saltz New York Times "I" is exuberant and unselfconscious but too cartoonish to engage your emotions. Jan 14, 2015 Full Review J Hurtado ScreenAnarchy Kung fu battles with Chinese BMX gangsters? Check. A woman transforms into a cell phone/motorcycle/TV set/bunch of bean curd/fish? Check. Nov 3, 2017 Full Review Nandini Ramnath Scroll.in Clearly, there is no greater crime in Shankar's universe than to be poor, ugly and unfit. Aug 11, 2015 Full Review Baradwaj Rangan The Hindu [Vikram] does his darnedest to make us care for the character, using his voice, his eyes. But beyond a point he has nothing to do, nothing to play -- he's all dressed up and he has nowhere to go. May 5, 2015 Full Review Gautaman Bhaskaran Hindustan Times The only high point of Shankar's I is Vikram's enthralling performance, first as a rustic body builder and later as a disfigured hunchback. Priyan B First 20 minutes of the film doesn't felt like shankar film felt amateurish after that part story take off and never lose the pace till end. 7.8/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/02/24 Full Review Audience Member Grandeur is not enough. Cliched romance and poor villain(s). Decent songs. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Grandeur is not enough. Cliched romance and poor villain(s). Decent songs. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member After watching Aparichit, I was impressed that both Vikram and Shankar. This time they prove themselves again with I. I can say that 'I' is a sure shot entertainer that should not be missed at any cost. If you missed it, it was your bad luck! The Hindi version of I is really well. The dubbing is crisp and one does not feel that it is a dubbed movie. Vikram is once again excellent with his performance... Especially in the action scenes and when he becomes hunchback. The songs are pretty good and hummable. The action scenes are brilliantly executed and would even make you either whistle or shout in happiness. The direction is good and there are several scenes that would make you smile as well as cry. Santhanam is once again a winner. His comedy is good and this time, he has a main role in the film. One can say that 'I' entertains with the help of actors, technical aspects, music and almost everything required for a perfect movie. Not a single dull moment is there. On the whole,I is another blockbuster that redefines the meaning of entertainment. Definitely watch it!
