Audience Member If you like very well made choreographed king fu scenes then this will be hard to beat. The plot is beyond basic and really only exists to support as much fighting as possible. The fights are impressive but I had them on fast forward. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Sure it was a low budget kung fu B movie but it was pretty well made and entertaining. A classic kung fu. The story wasn't amazing but it was interesting. Delightfully grim, and campy. The action and choreography were great. Quite good for what it was. Biggest problem was the sound effects. Omg were they grating and made no sense. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member the original iron monkey is one of the all time great kung fu films. revenge isnt empty in this film as the hero seeks revenge which will also lead to the salvation of the shaolin temple and many other rebels. the kung fu is well choreographed and the story is interesting, overall a great martial arts classic. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Iron Monkey is the oldest sibling of a prestigious family. One inauspicious day, a ruthless general invades the family’s village and takes them all hostage except Iron Monkey. Iron Monkey’s family is killed by the ruthless general, so he retreats to a Shaolin temple to take-up martial arts. Iron Monkey becomes a master of the monkey style and returns to his hometown to obtain revenge. “In your eyes I can still see hatred and bloodshed.” Kuan Tai Chen, director of A Simple-Minded Fellow, Dangerous Person, and Return to Action, delivers Iron Monkey. Kuan Tai Chen not only directed this picture, but also stars as the main character. The storyline for this picture was original and more intricate than most films in this genre. Kuan Tai Chen depicted the appropriate aura for the main character, which made the film worth following. The family storyline was well presented, the training scenes were excellent, and the action choreography was perfect. Iron Monkey is truly an underrated classic martial arts picture. This belongs in your kung fu collection. “Kill everyone, young and old.” Grade: B+ Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
