Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I just can't believe what I just witnessed. We all knew that, after the success of "Bone Tomahawk", we were gonna get more western horrors, but I certainly hoped for something better than this. You follow a trian-robbing gang who goes on a quest to find a hidden stash of gold to go on "retirement". However, they will find themselves hunted by the law and soon they will start dying one after another. Now, I know what you might be thinking. "Hey, this doesn't sound too bad". And honestly, it is kind of an interesting concept. However, the two biggest problems of this movie are the acting and the special effects. It seems that the director only wanted two types of performances: boring and uninteresting, and over-the-top and badass. After the first ten minutes of this movie, I laughed a lot at how bad the actors were, and at how cheesy the lines were. And that was before I saw the blood: this movie has hands-down the worst blood effect of all time. During shootouts badly-rendered CGI blood spurts everywhere, and when you see the aftermath it looks like someone painted the actors' clothes with a red crayon. Yeah, it's that bad. And the worst thing is that all of those (at first) funny things become quite annoying after a while. The action sequences lack any excitement thanks to lazy editing and camerawork. The gore is laughable and the sound effects are even worse. The only redeeming quality is the soundtrack: while generic, it's pretty pleasing to listen to. Overall, if you are looking for gore, violence or a thrilling western, go watch "Bone Tomahawk". This one is a silly and forgettable mess that you should most definitely skip.
