Kingsman: The Golden Circle offers more of everything that made its predecessor so much fun, but lacks the original's wild creative spark.

Kambole Campbell One Room With A View Kingsman: The Golden Circle doubles down on the crass humour that the first thought was subversive, all the while indulging in the worst traits of Bond films and predecessor The Secret Service alike - only this time, it's boring. Rated: 2/5 Aug 25, 2018 Full Review Larushka Ivan-Zadeh Metro Newspaper (UK) It's another goofily imaginative movie for teenagers made by middle-aged comic book fans. What's lacking this time is the sparky relationship between Firth's avuncular gent and Egerton's scrappy yoof. Rated: 3/5 Oct 11, 2017 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian The only redemption is seeing Elton John as Poppy's piano-bashing, singing, F-word-dropping hostage, but even he becomes tiresome before too long. If there's a Kingsman 3, I'll defect to Statesmen. At least they have whisky. Rated: 1/5 Oct 6, 2017 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review The film suffers from a nasty case of sequelitis, whereby the follow-up has the same basic plot of its predecessor and makes the mistake of assuming the outcome of more action is a better film. It's not. Rated: 1.5/4 Mar 17, 2022 Full Review Alan Ng Film Threat I liked Kingsman: The Golden Circle but made crucial film franchise management mistakes. Rated: 7/10 Dec 16, 2021 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Star studded, but is so enamoured of its own style it doesn't give anyone a chance to be interesting. Katie D This is great! It managed to honor and build on the first movie and it's just as good! (it was a little loud but maybe that was just our theater...) funny, action-packed, surprising, smart, great music and excellent acting! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/15/21 Full Review TheMovieSearch R Kingsman: The Golden Circle continues the stylish, over-the-top espionage that made the first film such a hit, and while it doesn’t quite reach the same level of originality, it still manages to be an immensely fun ride. Taron Egerton once again proves why he’s the perfect fit for Eggsy, bringing charisma, humor, and depth to a character who balances sophistication with street-smart grit. The film leans into its absurdity and action-packed set pieces with full confidence, which is part of what makes this franchise so enjoyable. The story itself expands the Kingsman universe in bold ways, introducing the American counterpart known as the Statesman. This new addition keeps the film feeling fresh, even when some of the pacing starts to drag. There are moments where the story slows down a bit too much between the bursts of kinetic action, but when the action does hit—it hits hard. The fight choreography, slow-motion shots, and stylized violence are as polished and thrilling as ever. Julianne Moore is a standout as Poppy, the sweetly deranged villain with a penchant for ‘50s nostalgia and ruthless control. She’s a perfect mix of unsettling and entertaining, and her performance brings a sharp edge of charisma to every scene. Meanwhile, Mark Strong delivers another excellent turn as Merlin, grounding the film with his quiet loyalty and heart—especially in one of the movie’s most emotional moments. The supporting cast is loaded with star power—Colin Firth, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, and Jeff Bridges all add unique energy to the ensemble. Even when some characters don’t get as much screen time as you might hope, their presence elevates the world-building and gives the film a sense of larger-than-life adventure. Director Matthew Vaughn once again demonstrates his knack for blending sleek visuals, humor, and creative storytelling. The film never shies away from its campy roots, and that’s part of what makes it work. It’s a wild mix of spy parody and genuine blockbuster spectacle that knows exactly what it is—a bold, unapologetic crowd-pleaser. While The Golden Circle isn’t perfect, it’s a strong sequel that captures the same irreverent spirit as the original and keeps the franchise moving forward. Between the clever writing, standout performances, and over-the-top action, it’s a film that delivers pure entertainment. For fans of stylish spy flicks with a twist, this one’s definitely worth checking out. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/25 Full Review Victória M O filme é bom. Acompanhei toda a trajetória de Kingsman e gostei bastante. É emocionante, desafiador eu diria. Da pra passar o tempo Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/26/25 Full Review bob t not as good as the first but Pedro Pascal is INCREDIBLE. Everyone else is still really good to! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/01/25 Full Review AnActor E A fine sequel to the original Kingsman, Golden Circle doubles down on the franchises’ excellent “single take” fight scenes, not once but at least four times! The editing in this kind of melee is carefully spliced to give the illusion of a single, unpaused take of the fight, allowing the action to flow and delivering a heightened experience. We tend to not demand much from actions flicks, but Kingsman proves, once again, that action, comedy and drama can be combined thoughtfully and playfully. Golden Circle continues in its predecessors penchant for goofy villains, sudden twists & turns and proper character development. Where other action films drop a simple plot & a long line of goons to punch thru, Kingsman develops narrative in its own style. A great deal of money and effort has gone into this wonderful sequel, and most moviegoers won’t notice it. Costly computer-generated imagery is applied everywhere in Golden Circle to greatly enhance the visual experience. Director Matthew Vaughn and cinematographer George Richmond use Hawk V-Lite and V-Plus anamorphic lenses, which are designed to deliver greater definition and higher contrast. The color scheme is also heightened in this film to provide a sense of depth and warmth. Earning four times its cost at the box office ($411 million in revenue), Kingsman: The Golden Circle is excellence in the action movie genre, elevating the standards of filmmaking and delivering more than its counterparts. The only issues I can find with the film are some run on scenes due to less than ideal script writing. At times, the dialogue will fail to deliver on what the audience is feeling or what the character should be correctly expressing. At other moments, the writing is excessively wordy, causing the vibe to halt. Other than that, Golden Circle is to be applauded, and is truly merit worthy in its efforts to deliver an enjoyable action packed spy film! (I give Golden Circle a 8 out 10 for admirable cinematography, fight scenes & visuals! This film does inherit poor dialogue issues from its predecessor, detracting from its relevance and pace.) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/30/25 Full Review Cade H. A step down from the previous movie narratively, but this doesn’t have a huge impact on the enjoyment of watching the film as you don’t watch a run and gun action movie for the plot Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/28/25 Full Review Read all reviews
