Mike M A transitional short - silent, but with pronounced sound effects - from a moment when the relationship between the stars still wasn't entirely set in stone: here, Ollie would rather spend time at home with the missus than go out and about with his pal, and visibly cringes when he sees Stanley marching up the front path. This first reel goes on to explore the myriad ways of destroying one's front room on a lazy Sunday afternoon (letting Stan in is a start); the second takes to an unlikely golf course in what looks like the Cali desert, where we get many of the expected gags involving clubs, balls and water hazards, and a final mudfight that plays like an abdication of comic responsibility. Not bad, but they'd do better. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/05/11 Full Review Audience Member A silent short film of Laurel and Hardy. Pure comedy.
