Anna Disliked the dumbass people that come to the movies, otherwise the movie itself was good Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/07/21 Full Review Blu B It's entertaining at times and I think any kid would like it but it's not good. The voice acting is alright. Witherspoon isn't bad and is probably the best thing. Everyone else is alright. Rogan is just being himself again, the villian is a cliche complete idiot, and the sidekicks are memorable in design but are a combo of cliche IP, quirky characters, and lame/flat humor. And Colbert's POTUS kind of embodies that. He's so lame in this. That's the biggest problem here is the humor is so...,not terrible but just really lame. and it's constant all the time. The reference humor, the adult stuff at times, the lazy stuff, and other times it's just not particulary funny and is constantly flat. If that worked this would be significantly better I think. Everything else is half decent. The animation is a bit dated looking like a PS3 era quality sometimes. I do wish they would've stayed on Witherspoon the entire time. Anytime it diverges to Colbert's POTUS or the villian it's pretty lame and loses momentum. But even when it stays on her for the most part it's still...I don't know. Like the ending maybe because the humor is so lame weighs down the climatic ending quite a bit. Lots of fast pacing, action, and things happening but I just found it so underwhelming. And I don't think I entirely understand why, but if I had to take a guess, I'd say the humor is what does it. I do get the symbolism in her becoming a giant and becoming a stronger person though. It's kind of odd in structure too. It's a Sci-Fi animated action flick that doesn't feel like it follows the traditional format. I'm not sure if it's because it's not entirely well done enough or if they were going for something different. If your a big fan of any voice actors here or are a Dreamworks completionist, maybe give this a watch but don't expect top quality stuff here. Most could skip this and not miss much. Could've been a lot better. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/25 Full Review Benjamin M Pretty good movie. Watched it a lot throughout my childhood Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/09/25 Full Review Abraham S Monsters vs aliens kinda sucked. Not only is this movie forgettable, its nearly insulting.
