Eric Henderson Slant Magazine Of course, every battle in their filth war is quite obviously filtered through John Waters’s legendarily up-is-down, wrong-is-right sense of humor. Nick O How far can too far go? Well according to John Waters, pretty far! The King of Filth has blessed us with an unforgettable flick that is sure to upset generations of squares. Just be sure to shower after viewing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/23/25 Full Review Marcus U Pink Flamingos is an intentionally grotesque film, dubbing Babs as the filthiest person alive. It's a film that I plan on only watching this one time. It follows Babs Johnson going around being as filthy as she can. The film is a “filth off”, depicting two parties competing to be the filthiest. It is self-aware of how depraved it is. It heavily relies on shock value, like including an illegal baby-selling ring? Another instance is when a chicken is killed,d and later in the film, the characters start licking an entire house. This film is so random that I was questioning what I was watching. It takes shock value to its limits by displaying Babs eating dog feces to prove she is the filthiest person in the world. The movie is so over the top and covers many taboo topics, but it brought drag into mainstream culture. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/25 Full Review Carlos I John Waters' Pink Flamingos is a gloriously depraved assault on good taste, a true cinematic anomaly that revels in its own filth and absurdity. While it's obviously not for everyone, those who have the stomach to endure the madness in this Gonzo cult classic will find endless entertainment in Divine's quest to be the filthiest person alive, a journey paved with unforgettable, stomach-churning, and undeniably hilarious moments. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/20/25 Full Review Geovanni G I really did not enjoy this movie. I can confidently say that this is one of the top ten worst movies I have ever seen. I genuinely do not understand how anyone can sit there and enjoy this movie. Like can some explain to me why there is a grown lady in a crib that acts like a baby? Why are they licking everything in the house? There is also absolutely no reason for any sex scenes. If anyone is thinking about watching this movie, save yourself some time and don’t. I honestly do not understand the purpose of the movie. They should remove this movie from every website so nobody else can watch it. Overall I would not recommend this movie to anyone unless you are looking for a terrible movie to watch. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/19/25 Full Review richie s While this is a very disturbing and uneasy watch, I think this is truly such a great film. John Water presents the pinnacle of camp with his directing, writing, and the incredible characters of Divine, Raymond, Connie, and Edie. I think this shows the best part of indie filmmaking which is just messing around with your friends to make some weird stuff. I’ve seen this movie 3 times and I can confidently say that this is a much more enjoyable watch with a group. I got to see this at the Academy Museum with John Water presenting it last year and it was such an incredible experience. While some might hate this movie, its truly the filthiest film in the world and I love it for that. Also the lines of “Could you give us some of your political beliefs” “Kill everyone now” honestly still applies today. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/18/25 Full Review Isabel L Watching Pink Flamingos is like being dared to sit through the most outrageous, offensive, and stomach-turning movie imaginable, and somehow finding it weirdly hilarious. John Waters doesn’t just push boundaries, he gleefully explodes them. The film follows Divine, a drag queen fighting for the title of “filthiest person alive,” and it's packed with scenes that are so over-the-top disgusting, you can’t believe they actually happened on camera. I was equal parts horrified and entertained the whole time. The acting is campy, the dialogue is wild, and the plot is basically just a vehicle for one shock after another. This is not a movie you watch casually or recommend lightly. But if you’re into extreme cult films and want to say you survived something truly filthy, this is the one. Viewer discretion? Seriously advised. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/16/25 Full Review Read all reviews
