The movie Pink Flamingos had me confused in ways that I couldn't even comprehend. When I say confused, I mean utterly felt bizarre about it. This has to be the one of the most insane, odd, unique, and vile movies I've ever watched as far as I know of. There was no stopping from what the director, John Waters, had in mind towards his story of his that he's made into real life, showing this bizarre but also sometimes absurd comedy style as well that is being thrown into this film. Reading from this film about the character Divine, who is a drag queen, and tries to fight for her title as being known as the filthiest person alive, has already given me a floating question mark around me, and a step back towards what I can possibly be in for from just reading that sentence alone, has given me a nervous but interesting exception of what will even happen to begin with. The entire film from the beginning to end, has made you think of how much you can see before you can't look at the screen anymore. I feel like the movie is trying to dare you to look away at times when certain scenes throughout the film is throwing more horrific and disturbing scenes at times, towards where it's really up to the viewer on how much you can really handle from viewing each scene, and each sequence given to you, to see it through to the end. I feel like Waters really did such an interesting job directing this film, and giving his insight on what it would suppose to be like, and how he included such a dark and twisted humor into the film as well, that it makes you think of ways of certain aspects of the film, wondering what was even the point or laughter of a particular part of a scene or a joke about the scene from a character, or characters. I think I can understand why and how this film was so shocking to people, especially nowadays where it’s been released years ago, and still to this day, where it makes people still get the same reactions as when it was released years ago.

Now, this is the 3rd “cultural” film that I have seen for my course and I have to say. Pink Flamingo was worse and more interesting than the first film that I have watched. So much was going on. Too many bad and filthy events happened during the film. The people making this film must have been on something to create this film. Like it was funny, but mainly it was way too disturbing and gross. All the characters throughout the film were beyond bad. The actions that they did were so questionable. Very questionable, terrible people are always around other terrible people. I feel like that was what the film was about. The type of people that are out there in the world. Especially with the chicken scene. I was beyond disgusted and thinking how people really do this type of stuff. Crazy. I had to rethink my whole life and what I've been through. It’s crazy to think that there are people like this in the world. There are actually cults like this in the world. They are just hidden in plain sight, such as in this movie. It makes you think what would you do if you really meet people like this. What would you do and how would you react? It was a pretty interesting movie though, I wouldn’t say that I like it. I am just saying that there is always something new that blows my mind in these types of movies. Like how can you write this and even produce this? People even go along with it and film it. I would only recommend this movie if you have a strong stomach and aren’t afraid of certain subjects throughout this film. Would I rewatch this film? Probably not, unless I am watching it with someone who hasn’t seen it before. Then yes, I would just see how they would react to the movie.

Pink Flamingos truly tests the limits of what you can handle as a viewer. This 1972 cult classic is infamous for its sheer absurdity and unapologetic filth. I had no idea what I was getting into, but I was equally horrified and strangely amused by the end.
The film follows Divine, a larger-than-life drag queen, as she fights to maintain her title as the "filthiest person alive." That alone should tell you what kind of ride you're in for. From start to finish, *Pink Flamingos* is an exercise in pushing boundaries, with each scene more grotesque than the last. Honestly, I felt physically uncomfortable at times, especially during certain moments that I'd instead not recall, but let's say there's a reason this movie has been called one of the most shocking films ever made.
Waters doesn't just gross you out for the sake of it, though. Underneath the grime, there's a satirical genius at play. It's like he's laughing at societal norms, flipping them on their head, and smothering them in dog poop (literally, in one of the film's most infamous scenes). The entire movie is a parade of eccentric characters who act like they live in a world with no rules, and that's probably the point—Waters is reveling in anarchy and daring you to look away.
What I found surprising is how amusing the film is despite its disturbing content. The humor is so dark and offbeat that you almost feel guilty for laughing, but you can't help it. Divine's over-the-top performance, especially in scenes where she's shouting or cackling maniacally, is as hilarious as it is unsettling. It's this strange balance that makes Pink Flamingos memorable.
Ultimately, I can't say I "enjoyed" watching Pink Flamingos —that's not really the right word. I survived it. It's like watching a train wreck: you want to look away but are too fascinated by the chaos. It's disgusting, sure, but also uniquely bold and undeniably funny in the weirdest way possible. Would I recommend it? Only if you have a strong stomach and a stronger sense of humor.

This movie is very disturbing, funny, and disgusting at the same time as it was ranked as one of the most disgusting films ever made and has gained a NC-17 rating because of it. I don't recommend people watching this movie as this contains Incest, Pornography, disturbing mail opening scene, and really more disturbing scenes. The behind of this movie, is a guy who acts and dresses as a female named Divine, trying to be the filthiest person ever existed and her hopes of loving yourself no matter how filthy disgusting you are. And then suddenly, she has a rivalry with Connie and Raymond Marble who are a couple that is trying to best her on being the filthiest person on the planet. And so, what they do for a living is very disturbing to come across, like they tend to kidnap women and force them to be pregnant so they can sell their babies to other people and they have another guy named Channing to help them to do that. Though he chose to not have sex with them but do the unthinkable things that some people couldn't explain and rewatch the movie again to make them pregnant. Though Divine was also a not so good person, She did save the girls in the basement where the Marbles have them locked up and let them kill Channing for disturbing them. And after the Marbles tried their best to get Divine out of the filthiest person ranked, they tried to ruined her birthday party and burned down Divine's trailer in which it angers Divine and her family after returning from the Marbles house to destroy their house as well, they came back when the Marbles returns home and instantly regretted double crossing Divine again and do a live execution of them both and have a news coverage watch about it though, she threatens them to not post this story into the news outlet. And after they leave the states and start a new life there.

I hated this movie. IT WAS DISGUSTING!!!!!!! I couldn't watch it at all, my eyes were closed and I couldn't finish it because of how gruesome and gross it was. I don't understand what was going on in the producers/writers mind and how they can come up with something like this. Do NOT watch this movie if you have a weak stomach. It deserves bad reviews.

This is definitely a movie you need to watch to understand how gross and gruesome it truly is. Still respect to the actors with going through with what they had to do to make this movie what it is. Has some very gross and disturbing things and really can't find a point to the movie other than its just very nasty. There is so much that will have you questioning why you are watching it. Do not recommend but if you are curious, it is a must watch to truly understand how gross it is. Movie is shot very amateur for the success that it has.
