District Attorney Bob Holden (Bradley Page) and his investigator, Betty Higgins (Maris Wrixon), build a murder case against brothers Lou (Anthony Warde) and Joe Manson (Milburn Stone) with an eyewitness. To their dismay, the Mansons hire Betty's fiancé, attorney Bruce Strong (Frank Albertson), who gets them off by impugning Bob's witness. Outraged, Betty breaks up with Bruce. The Mansons soon strike again, and when they're forced to eliminate yet another witness, they pin the murder on Bruce.
