Josh A This was a solid prologue to The Ring Two. While I prefer the actual film, this helped sort of bridge the gap between the two. It did, of course, have its flaws e.g. how it feels like a fanfilm and how the story isn't the most fleshed out, but it has way more positives than negatives. My favourite part about this entry is that it has some amazing internet themes, where the cursed video has gone viral and challenges are made to see how long you can last with Samara's curse, similar to something like Run the Gauntlet. It's a great idea that properly grounds the story. Overall, good short film, would recommend seeing. Next up, The Ring Two! I've already seen it but I always say that at the end of my Ring reviews to show my watch order and this time will be no different. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/09/24 Full Review chucky.editzz 6 This short film is really good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/24 Full Review Briana A It's the third in a trilogy, but I do think they did a fair enough job. It has creep factors, psychological games, it was a pretty decent movie. But the lead actress kinda killed the hype for me. It's not that she did a terrible job, she was alright. But her voice/tone/energy....none of it felt right. Watching this movie, she just kept pulling me out of it, because it simply didn't click. The movie itself -probably 4/5 as far as the late tie into the franchise and making pieces fit while being entertaining. But the casting should've done better when filling this role. In my personal opinion. Nothing against the actress herself. She's lovely, and obviously talented... But I absolutely think this character needed a different take. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/18/23 Full Review Audience Member A sleekly directed short film with great atmosphere, feeling quite scary and having great acting from everybody involved, making Rings* a damn good short film that should get people hyped for its direct sequel. Too bad The Ring Two was just another crappy horror sequel, since this short was just so much better than it. Should've just made a feature-length version of this short film rather than Samara's Mommy Issues. *No relation to the 2017 film, which I highly doubt I'll be seeing anytime soon Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member This is the real Ring squeal. "Ring Two" was just a long deleted scene Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review peter b This is a short film that takes place in the time between The Ring & The Ring 2. In my opinion, the story is more compelling and well-told than the storyline for The Ring 2. It's also far superior to the 2017 film of the same name.
