christopher c. m Anyone who thinks the live-action movie is bad hasn't truly seen bad until they witness this turd. Pops is an automotive genius but that doesn't make him qualified to create quantum technology. It's a lazy plot device for a lazy writer. The animation wasn't great in the original anime. But the style worked. The animation style is just ugly. Hell, they put some indentation on the door where the 5 in and half the time you can't even see the 5, looks more like a sideways omega symbol. Also, the whole idea that Racer X wears the mask is to hide the fact that he's Speed's brother. So when the HELL did Speed and the family find out? If this was some kind of pilot to reboot Speed Racer in the states, it fails miserably. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a wonderful movie. This is a 2020 movie made in 2008. The unique depth of field, mimicking the print, and art of the original comics is brilliant. The story is pure, and wholesome, showing the reality of life an compromise. It projects nothing, and protests nothing, it simply is, while being a triumph of the spirit of the individual who harnesses it. If you can't handle this movies sincerity then go watch some ironic diatribe, but for me, this rings with honesty and clarity the reality that is life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I swear i'm fan of speed racer and this movie looks horrible for a movie from 2016 if it was made in other year it would be ok but 2016 there is no excuse Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member The worst use of the Speed Racer license. For 2001 standards the animation would have been acceptable, but for 2013 it looks too basic and the characters look like cardboard cutouts. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member No just no this is just terrible Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member This the worst, just the worst. The animation is really terrible with the whole cheap flash animation. Speed is a jerk for no reason. The voice acting needs a of lot work. The soundtrack is tame but also lame with not having a booming impact on listeners, and the plot gets really weird, which time travel plots usually do, but in this case, it is more nonsensical than any other time travel story. I don't see why this movie has a 100% on this site. but if it made me want to write a review of something, then it is a really bad movie. I still recommend this to anyone on how not make an animated movie, and although I do like the design of the Mach 5 in this one, this movie still needs a serious tune-up. Sorry, bad car pun. So, I posted a rotten tomato review of a bad movie, how did I do? To ranty? Which it probably is. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
