Steve D 06/30/2023 Entertaining mix of fantasy and history. See more ashley h @ashleyhobgood87 04/17/2022 The Scarlet Coat is a decent film. It is about an American major who feigns desertion in order to uncover a British plot to seize the stronghold of West Point during the revolutionary war. Cornel Wilde and Michael Wilding give good performances. The script is a little slow in places. John Sturges did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the drama. See more Frances H 07/07/2021 Michael Wilding's acting was the only thing that kept me watching. See more 07/07/2014 Beautifully shot and costumed, this Hollywood version of the Benedict Arnold takedown. Much like in history, it's Major Andre we're left rooting for - thanks to the swoon-worthy elegance Michael Wilding brought to the role. Unfortunately, there's too little action and too much dialogue for it to really capture the viewer. 3+ stars See more 05/06/2014 Colorful semi factual historical drama. Good production values and okay performances. See more 09/18/2013 Great Lavish vintage drama, based around the Benedict Arnold affair. See more Read all reviews
