Steve D Entertaining mix of fantasy and history. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/30/23 Full Review ashley h The Scarlet Coat is a decent film. It is about an American major who feigns desertion in order to uncover a British plot to seize the stronghold of West Point during the revolutionary war. Cornel Wilde and Michael Wilding give good performances. The script is a little slow in places. John Sturges did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the drama. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Frances H Michael Wilding's acting was the only thing that kept me watching. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/07/21 Full Review Audience Member Beautifully shot and costumed, this Hollywood version of the Benedict Arnold takedown. Much like in history, it's Major Andre we're left rooting for - thanks to the swoon-worthy elegance Michael Wilding brought to the role. Unfortunately, there's too little action and too much dialogue for it to really capture the viewer. 3+ stars Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Colorful semi factual historical drama. Good production values and okay performances. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Great Lavish vintage drama, based around the Benedict Arnold affair.
