Colby D @RT71944197 Dec 15, 2025 Not much a story here but a good movie showing the intensity of battle and the harsh conditions faced by soldiers in WW2. See more Micky B @RT23470630 Feb 7, 2025 First of all, you have to understand that this is a movie that was released directly for TV. It was released on HBO in 1998 and was made before Saving Private Ryan, which became a turning point for subsequent war films. Even with a smaller budget, I consider When Trumpets Fade to be a good movie that should be viewed through the lens of the '90s. It portrays the horrors of war with an unusual rawness for its time and budget. It should not be underrated when compared to higher-budget films or more recent productions. At the time, it had a impact on me. See more Robert T @RT38876959 Feb 6, 2025 The plot is cliche. And not well executed cliche. And for God's sake somebody turn off the music. Instead of building tension and drama with well placed music, this one makes it feel more like in Saturday afternoon romp through the forest than soldiers facing death. I'm not kidding about the music, there is a musical score throughout almost the entire film. It was like a throwback to the 30s. See more lucas c @RT37857478 Nov 21, 2023 You can't justify the horrible acting, terrible quality, and hollow plot by demanding that it's a realistic movie war movie. The acting alone (or lack thereof) set the stage for an awkward and uncomfortable viewing experience. They missed it big time. After watching band of brothers, this seemed like a high school performance at best. See more Jan 27, 2023 One of the worst war movies ever created See more Read all reviews
