kyle s No connection to "Extro". Storyline is a presidents choice rip off of Alien. Suffers a lacklustre script and a cast that's barley supported by the much maligned Jan-Michael Vincient. Old school special effects weren't the worst so if super cheesy Sci-fi is your thing it could check a few boxes. Buyer beware it will only appeal to a very particular crowd. "Dying's not so bad, we'll be back in a new body before you know it" Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review justin t I didn't really understand the ending. I don't care though so it is all good. This is totally unrelated to the first movie and that is a very bad thing. The first Xtro (1982) was full of charm and insane monsters. This one tried to be respectable but failed mostly on originality. It struck me as a cheap copy of Alien (1979) and done really badly in comparison. The monster looks just like Alien. There is nothing good about the story. The acting is abysmal. The effects are dull. Total lack of imagination. Stay away! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is awful. It took everything I had to finish this boring garbage of a film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought the first Xtro was great! 5 minutes into the 2nd film, I got bored. After 45 minutes I started wishing it would just end. This movie is terrible! The best part of the movie is when they find an alien turd and have an argument about it. This movie deserves the 0% score! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Sequel to Xtro is a stupid, painful film that doesn't continue to story of the first film. I really don't see why the filmmakers bothered at making a sequel, as this one just fails to have anything worth seeing. This sequel is filled with a bad cast, a poor plot and poor direction. I really hated the film, and it didn't offer anything to the viewer. The original Xtro was nothing great and quite frankly didn't really stand out in the genre. Not to mention it absolutely unnecessary of being followed up by a sequel, which didn't add anything new to the first film. I really didn't enjoy the film, and I felt it was a painful film to watch that looked cheap and was made to make a quick buck. This is an awful piece of trash that just doesn't work to entertain the viewer. Instead the viewer feel strained, and that's how I felt watching this film as the film tried to introduce a concept was too ambitious, and failed with its ideas due to a poorly written script that lacked in terms of good story. The first entry at least had some effective effects to keep you interested, but this one simply is a mess of a film that simply doesn't pull off anything remarkable. This is a totally unrelated film to the original, and I really don't know why the film bears the Xtro name. This is simply put low budget trash that relies on poor acting, poorly developed ideas and unfocused directing to try an appeal to fans of the original. The first Xtro was decent at best with plenty of imperfections, at least it was entertaining. However this one fails and should be avoided.
