What to Know

Critics Consensus

Chuck remains sturdily delightful in its fourth year, but the reliable charms of the series are beginning to seem a touch too safe.

Emily St. James Los Angeles Times It's a very fun show, and there's always something to recommend, even in its weakest episodes, but this season premiere suggested that the show isn't sure where to go, moving forward. Sep 18, 2018 Full Review Myles McNutt AV Club By the time the show got to its emotional conclusion... it all worked. Rated: B+ Apr 3, 2018 Full Review Hayden Childs AV Club I did like how Casey, once his new team was revealed, tried to reach out to Chuck and Sarah. Rated: B- Nov 29, 2017 Full Review Ethan Anderton Collider it's good to see Linda Hamilton kicking some ass again and Dolph Lundgren and Olivia Munn certainly added to the fun. Jul 18, 2018 Full Review Charlie Jane Anders io9.com It's no secret that this season of Chuck has felt a bit more blah than previous years. Frans B Still very exciting and action packed, feels "different" than previous seasons, but still refreshing with lots of unpredictable twists and turns. Funny and witty as ever. Lots of action Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/20/25 Full Review Audience Member Agent Shaw brought a new layer of drama and tension to the series, but his presence ultimately disrupted the chemistry that made the show so enjoyable. While his character had potential, his storyline felt forced and took away from the charm and connection that defined the earlier episodes. Instead of adding depth, his arc left the series feeling unbalanced and, at times, frustrating to watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/05/25 Full Review Jackson S Season 4 of Chuck opens up and there is a clear sign of change in editing style, but it definitely doesn't take away from the show. The characters experience major changes throughout this season. Action and comedy is still peak performance throughout the season. Timothy Dalton is amazing as well throughout the season. Some may say this season is a bit dry because there is not the same will they won't they tension with Chuck and Sarah, but they still have their moments. The last three episodes are definite standouts for story, drama, and emotions! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/07/24 Full Review St R A great action comedy! Same for season four! The cast is brilliant. Levi is awesome. Baldwin is legit! And I will forever compare every leading lady with Strahovski; she's a brilliant actress with mad skills as an action lead and the love story she tells with Levi is compelling and inspiring. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/06/23 Full Review Izaac A While not as developed as its predecessors, this season still stays true to the show's original purpose. Filled with plot twists and action sequences that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/30/23 Full Review paytonthompson20 Chuck keeps the action coming with great comedy all along the way. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
